AI will put more onchain assets to work. As agents take on that responsibility, owners need control over what they’re allowed to do and the risks they can take. That’s where our trust layer fits: assessing risk before money moves.
AI is coming for blockchain. In a 24/7 system, opportunities can appear and disappear in seconds. AI can optimize these interactions around the clock. Sandy Kaul explains via Wolf of All Streets @scottmelker.

AI agents won’t just think. They’ll pay. Altair settling its daily AI model-token bills in RLUSD on the XRP Ledger through x402 is a small step that points to something big: machine-to-machine payments running on XRPL. This is the real utility I’ve been writing about. @chandler_agi @Sergio2Chan @maniusmaximus @clairejiyeonj
We’re partnering with @Altairdotai to bring AI model-token bill settlement to the XRP Ledger. Altair is now an x402 merchant on XRPL AI Hub. Its daily invoices can be paid in RLUSD via t54’s facilitator. More: t54.ai/blog/altair-brings-ai…

🚨🚨🚨AI payments are already taking off on $XRP Ledger! And T54 is building something that makes me even more bullish on $XRP! I've been researching how AI agents are beginning to make payments on XRP Ledger, and the numbers are much bigger than I initially expected. Over 14 MILLION x402 transactions reported on XRPL as of October 22, 2026! Think about that. We're entering a world where software can purchase services, exchange information, pay other applications, and complete financial transactions automatically. And XRP Ledger is already participating in that economy. At Ripple Swell 2026, Chandler Fang, co-founder of t54 Labs, explained how T54 is connecting autonomous AI agents to XRPL. The idea is straightforward. AI agents need to purchase services from other AI agents and businesses. T54 is developing infrastructure that allows them to make those payments through XRP Ledger. And the ecosystem is open to XRP holders and developers. Now imagine millions of AI agents making payments throughout the day. An AI trading assistant needs market information. It purchases data from another provider. A business needs computing resources. Its AI agent pays for access. Another application needs research, an API, or a specialized financial service. The agent completes the payment and receives the service. No manual checkout is needed for every transaction. This is the market T54 is building toward. And the technology already exists. It's called x402, an open payment protocol based on the HTTP 402 Payment Required response. Here's how it works. An AI agent requests information or a service. The provider responds with payment instructions, including the price and accepted currency. The agent authorizes and signs a payment using XRP or RLUSD. T54's facilitator verifies the transaction and assists with settlement through XRPL. Once the payment is confirmed, the service becomes available. Now think about the economic activity that develops as more services become accessible to AI agents. Every paid interaction represents an actual commercial transaction. And T54's reported numbers show that this activity is already growing rapidly. On October 2, 2026, T54 reported: More than 10 million cumulative x402 payments on XRPL. A seven-day average exceeding 500,000 payments per day. Growth from 1 million to over 10 million payments in less than three months. By October 22, the company was reporting more than 14 million x402 transactions. These are reported transaction counts, rather than audited dollar-denominated payment totals. But I find the growth remarkable. Now let's connect this directly to Ripple. On June 9, 2026, Ripple launched its official XRPL AI Starter Kit, including T54's x402 integration. The toolkit allows developers to create AI applications that manage XRPL wallets, check balances, make payments, and interact with financial services. So Ripple is already giving developers tools to participate in this machine-payment economy. Imagine developers building paid research tools, computing services, financial-data APIs, and automated trading applications. AI agents can discover those services and pay to use them. More useful applications attract more agents. More agents create a larger customer base for developers. I see a new category of economic activity developing around XRP Ledger. And T54 has attracted serious financial and technology connections. In February 2026, T54 raised $5 million, with Franklin Templeton among its lead investors and strategic participation from Ripple. The company is developing identity verification, risk assessment, machine payments, and agent-native credit infrastructure. That is important because autonomous financial activity requires more than the ability to transfer money. Businesses need to verify which AI systems are authorized to make purchases. They need controls over spending and transaction risks. And they need reliable records of what those agents are doing. Mastercard has already recognized this emerging market. On June 10, 2026, Mastercard launched Agent Pay for Machines, naming RippleX and T54 Labs among its participants. T54 contributes identity verification, risk assessment, and transaction traceability. Mastercard's broader initiative supports machine payments involving cards, accounts, and stablecoins. T54's separate XRPL facilitator already provides a route for payments using XRP and RLUSD. Now add Amazon Web Services. On September 1, 2026, AWS published a case study about T54's integration with Amazon Bedrock AgentCore payments. T54's wider trust infrastructure had processed over 20 million agent-initiated transactions, including micropayments ranging from $0.001 to $0.01. Those 20 million transactions belong to T54's broader infrastructure, rather than representing additional XRPL payment volume. Still, they show how much automated transaction activity these systems are already handling. Now here's the part that really interests me as an XRP investor. AI agents are moving beyond paying for small digital services. T54's recent collaborations involve treasury operations, investments, tokenized assets, and institutional financial activity. On January 20, T54 announced a strategic collaboration with Evernorth, involving autonomous treasury operations on XRPL. Evernorth's strategy includes XRP reserves, liquidity provision, institutional lending, and financial applications. Imagine an authorized AI system helping an institution manage XRP liquidity. It monitors available balances, assesses approved transactions, and helps allocate liquidity across different financial operations. T54 provides identity and risk infrastructure. XRPL provides execution and settlement. And XRP participates as an asset being managed and transferred. That's a much bigger financial application than a simple API payment. Now look at the other developments. On October 15, T54 signed an MOU with RiskX involving a personalized AI investment proof of concept. On October 28, it announced an MOU with Hecto Financial covering AI payment identity, risk controls, and settlement infrastructure. On October 29, T54 announced an MOU with Arco Financial, exploring the integration of Arco Vault into XRPL. Arco's project involves AI-directed allocation of tokenized financial assets, supported by T54's Trustline infrastructure for authorization and transaction risk. These agreements represent planned work and evaluations, but they're pointing toward an important development. AI agents are beginning to enter financial activities involving investments, payments, and liquidity management. And XRP already has useful functions in those markets. Now consider the growth of RLUSD. On October 28, Ripple announced expanded RLUSD distribution through Coinbase Prime, Coinbase Exchange, and the Coinbase retail application, with support across XRPL, Base, and Ethereum. Ripple reported that RLUSD had exceeded $2.4 billion in market capitalization. On October 27, Robinhood announced plans to use RLUSD on XRPL for institutional settlement. And remember, T54's facilitator already supports both XRP and RLUSD. That creates an interesting opportunity. Imagine an AI agent holding RLUSD for dollar-denominated payments. Another service requires payment in a different asset. XRPL supports native path payments through its decentralized exchange and automated market makers. When XRP offers the better exchange route, it can act as the intermediary asset. For example: RLUSD → XRP → destination asset. That gives XRP a role in asset conversion and settlement. Now let's discuss how this can create demand for XRP itself. I see four main mechanisms. First: Direct XRP payments. AI agents purchasing XRP-denominated services need access to XRP balances. Merchants accepting XRP also need to manage the assets they receive. Second: Funded XRPL accounts. A standard funded account requires a 1 XRP base reserve, plus 0.2 XRP for most additional owned ledger objects. At that requirement: 100,000 independently funded accounts represent 100,000 XRP in base reserves. One million accounts represent one million XRP. Five million accounts represent five million XRP. Ten million accounts represent ten million XRP. These are illustrative scenarios, not forecasts of future wallet numbers. Third: Institutional liquidity. This is the most important part of my long-term thesis. As autonomous financial applications expand, some will need access to liquidity between different currencies and tokenized assets. If XRP becomes a preferred route in those transactions, financial applications and liquidity providers have commercial reasons to maintain XRP inventory. Fourth: Transaction fees. The reference transaction fee on XRPL is 0.00001 XRP, which is permanently destroyed. At that rate, 500,000 transactions burn approximately 5 XRP. The fee mechanism is useful, but my biggest bullish expectation comes from direct payments, operational balances, and institutional liquidity. And the wider market is moving in the same direction. On July 14, 2026, the Linux Foundation announced the operational launch of the x402 Foundation. Participants include Coinbase, Ripple, Mastercard, Visa, AWS, Google, Cloudflare, Stripe, Shopify, and T54 Labs. That's a major group of financial and technology companies participating in the development of machine-native payment infrastructure. In August 2026, Gartner published research identifying a $222 billion agentic AI opportunity, projecting approximately 13-fold growth in stand-alone AI agents and assistants between 2025 and 2030. That's a forecast for AI-agent products and services, rather than XRP payment volume. But a much larger AI-agent economy creates an expanding market for payment infrastructure. Here's how I see XRP's opportunity developing through 2030. Late 2026 already has millions of reported XRPL x402 payments, Ripple's AI Starter Kit, and support for XRP and RLUSD. During 2027, I see opportunities for more paid AI applications, developers, and agent wallets. From 2027 to 2028, the work involving Evernorth, RiskX, Hecto Financial, and Arco Financial creates potential routes into treasury services, financial applications, and tokenized investments. During 2028–2029, AI-managed financial operations introduce larger opportunities for XRP liquidity and asset conversion. And beyond 2030, I see autonomous machine commerce becoming a meaningful part of digital finance. The indicators I care about most are XRP-denominated payments, funded agent wallets, XRP liquidity balances, RLUSD-to-XRP conversions, institutional settlement activity, and growing numbers of paying merchants. Those measurements will help establish how much of the AI economy's growth is reaching XRP itself. I've been bullish on XRP's role in international payments and financial infrastructure for years. Now we're seeing another potential market opening up. AI agents making payments. Software purchasing financial services. Institutions exploring autonomous treasury operations. And developers building applications that settle transactions through XRPL. I see XRP gaining an opportunity to serve an entirely new category of financial users. That's the part of Chandler Fang's vision I find most exciting. The financial world is changing, and I'm thinking about XRP's role over the next several years. AI PAYMENTS SEASON IS HERE ON $XRP LEDGER!

Payments are easy to automate. Trust is the hard part. That’s what stood out to me in @chandler_agi explanation. With roots at @Ripple and J.P. Morgan, he knows both sides: payment rails and institutional risk. @t54ai is making agent payments on XRPL verifiable and accountable.

As an official t54 Ambassador, I'm proud to share this. AI agents are no longer just tools. They are starting to act on their own: writing code, running tasks, and using compute. That raises a simple but important question. How does an AI agent pay for what it uses? That's what this collaboration is exploring. t54 is working with Cline through Mastercard's Agent Pay for Machines, with x402 payments settled in RLUSD on the XRP Ledger. Machines paying machines in real time, with stable value and fast settlement. To me, this is a quiet glimpse of the next financial layer being built. The agent economy needs payment infrastructure it can trust, and I'm grateful to stand with t54 as we build it. 🙏 #t54 #XRP #XRPL #RLUSD #AI @chandler_agi @Sergio2Chan @maniusmaximus @clairejiyeonj
