The Conservatives began privatizing our health care and LTC 25 years ago under Mike Harris - and the results for our loved ones have been disastourous.
Now, Doug Ford is trying to finish the job, so corporations can make more profits.
We must protect public care. #onpoli

Not a fan of the term “virtue signaling,” but if anything is virtue signaling it’s spending $80k on a vehicle that’s essentially an SUV with a little bit of space in the back to signal what a no-nonsense, salt of the earth, hardworking dude you are

What I always hear: “We can’t afford to pay our workers $15 an hour.”
What I never hear: “We can’t afford to pay our CEO millions of dollars a year.”
Funny how that works.

Wow… “Mr. X” just says it all out loud.
The money is all made in re-zoning, and “most developers that I know don’t build”.
There you have it, folks. Those “developers” aren’t actually developers. They are simply land speculators.

Labor Day reminder: If the federal minimum wage had increased as much as Wall Street bonuses since 1985, it would be worth $42 today.
$15 is the floor, not the ceiling, of what working people deserve.

Investigate:
1. The flagrant misuse of MZO’s for friends and family, violating the principles of local democracy. Why is the Province MZO’ing lands of private developers and not developing land it owns itself, around GO stations?
2. Ontario Place. Why a multi-million $ subsidy for parking to an Austrian spa? Why is this advancing if it is not supported? Who has a stake in this. Why, when the Province decided to subsidize development here, was a fully transparent procurement process to find interested bidders not advanced, with clarity of investment from the Province made to all of the bidders? Is the subsidy only available to an Austrian company? Why?
3. Why have there been quickie billion $$ contracts for the new Ontario Line? Why were procurement rules changed and/or not followed? Who benefited from the changing of these rules, and why were they changed?
4. Eglinton Crosstown fiasco. Why does the Province not care? Why is an operating agreement not in place with the TTC? Why is the public not being informed about when the line is opening. Why are construction workers parking in vehicles lanes along the corridor blocking traffic, as they sweep the sidewalks? How much repair work is required to make the disaster operational?
Sunlight is the best disinfectant. Time to shine some light on this government.

It’s deeply counter to Burning Man’s stated ethics, but I don’t care about that.
I care about the needless trash and consumption, and the added demand for more stuff, none of which is made to be single use. If that’s the impact of this great convergence, then we are screwed.
