Confluent Cloud on GCP London (europe-west2) had a major incident on 20 Oct: 10h 25m, traced to an underlying GCP issue.
No blame. Regions have bad days.
But one managed cluster in one region is one point of failure. DORA and NIS2 ask how you recover:

Where does your AI agent's reasoning happen?
For a lot of agent tools the answer is someone else's cloud. Lascaris runs in your cloud account, on-prem or air-gapped. Reasoning never leaves your network.

‼️ Researcher Erica Windisch skipped coordinated vulnerability disclosure and published 11 unpatched Tailscale flaws.
In her lab, Tailscale SSH race conditions let one hacked device get root on other servers and add a rogue node.

More private keys by the Indian certificate authority have been discovered. These are all small numbers.
People are suspecting that they interpreted 384 bit keys to mean that they should pick numbers from 1-384 to use as their private keys.

The fun fact about the eMudhra certificate leak is that the numbers were so low that only an AI or a flawed/test script would have found them. No sane human would have thought that a fellow human could have done something that stupid.

Can you trace what your agents saw when they got it wrong?

Your Kafka is replicated. Is it backed up?
Delete a topic and your standby deletes it too. Two clusters, no data.

Every AI agent action should answer 4 questions:
What did the source say?
What is true enough to decide now?
May this decision be made here?
What changed, and who allowed it?
IBM + Confluent Kafka is where those answers live: scalytics.io/blog/ibm-conflu…

Myth: our Kafka standby is our backup.
Fact: a standby mirrors your mistakes. A misfired topic delete or a leaked producer key reaches it too.
A backup needs a locked copy prod credentials can't touch:

Replying to @IBM
@IBM + @confluentinc bring live data to AI.
Before an agent acts, it should answer 4 questions: What did the source say? Is the state fresh? Is it allowed? Who approved it? Lascaris runs all 4 on your Kafka today.

Agents that act can also act wrong.
Lascaris runs every action through Sense → Decide → Check → Record on your Kafka. Policy first. Full audit log. Zero bytes leaving your network.

Can you show what it saw, what it decided and which rule allowed it?

"Jim Bridger ran away at 17. 1822, joined William Ashley’s fur trappers. Illiterate. Couldn’t sign his name. But he could read rivers, snow, and smoke.
He found the Great Salt Lake in 1824. Thought it was the Pacific Ocean because it was salty. Tasted it. Told everyone. Was wrong. Kept trapping.
He survived 40 years in the Rockies. Grizzly tore his back open — he sewed it himself. Blackfoot captured him — he escaped by killing a guard and riding 100 miles naked. He knew every pass, every water hole, every Shoshone chief.
In 1843 he built Fort Bridger in Wyoming. Sold supplies to Oregon Trail wagons. Told them: “Take the south pass. Don’t take the shortcuts.” The Donner Party didn’t listen.
The Army hired him as chief scout. He guided 1857 Mormon War troops. Led 1865 Powder River Expedition. At 60, he could still out-ride 20-year-olds.
He told stories. Said he saw a river that ran uphill. Said there was a mountain of glass. Said there were petrified trees. People called him a liar. All three were real: now Yellowstone’s Firehole River, Obsidian Cliff, and Petrified Forest.
He died blind in 1881. Missouri farm. Last words: “I wish I was back in the mountains.”
