We need to stop confusing the political necessity of building broad coalitions with the idea that whiteness is a prerequisite for electability. We need to let go of this mythology that we need the majority of the yt vote. The Democratic Party as we know it today has never received or relied upon the majority of yt ppl to vote for democrats. Barack Obama was not elected by a majority yt vote. let me say it again, BARACK OBAMA WAS NOT ELECTED BY A MAJORITY YT VOTE. A polarity did which was just enough but his campaign was a diverse coalition and is a reflection of the multi racial society we live in. So if ppl want to win they have to let go of this false idea that we need a yt savior to win an election.

Quite frankly I think it’s idiotic to suggest that Kamala Harris shouldn’t run again just because she lost to Donald Trump in 2024. And I have yet to hear a good response to why she shouldn’t run. That election was not a referendum on her ability to lead but a reflection of the ignorance and disinformation that flooded the electorate. When we talk about that election we cannot leave out the facts. Over 75m ppl voted for Kamala Harris and she did that in 107 days. Kamala Harris is the second most voted for democratic nominee in US history. We did not go anywhere we are clearly still here and the tide has shifted. This next presidential election will be the opportunity.
