ALT Are GPs working hard to meet demand for appointments? Yes. General practice is in crisis because of difficulties in recruiting and retaining HPs, alongside a growing and increasingly complex workload. As a result, GPs are working harder than ever before, but patients are still finding it difficult to get appointments.

To make General Practice a career people will stay in:
🕒 Minimum 15min appointment
⚖️ 3:1 balance clinical to admin time to do the work.
🚫 Max 25 contacts a day (like Europe)
🥗 30min lunch break (pref with the team
⛔ stop the vilification in the media

We know people have missed socialising in the sun but this is not what is meant by easing out of lockdown. @sccstreetsahead have been out since 6am clearing up but our resources could be much better spent.

Phlebotomy services are not part of the core NHS GP contract. If patients are not able to attend hospitals for their blood tests, then NHS Trusts should make alternative arrangements such as establishing community phlebotomy clinics or domiciliary phlebotomy services.

I have been very heartened by so many men tweeting asking for some tips on how they can help women feel safer on the streets. For so long we have been told it's our responsibility not to get raped, not men's responsibility not to rape.
Here are my top tips: [A thread]

Have deleted my last tweet as it wasn’t clear. There have been discussions in some areas about destroying doses rather than give a second before 12 weeks and even if these are only limited it shouldn’t even be a topic for discussion. They are a precious resource!

Covid vaccination- from the front line. My group of practices was initially told we would get our first delivery on 28th december. Then 4th jan. Then 11th jan. Now we are ‘6th wave’ and it will be 13th, 14th or 15th jan. We are raring to go, but have no vaccines. WHY?

Very interesting. If a sizeable proportion have silent hypoxaemia, would this not add further weight to a scaled up car park assessment hub? If you primarily need sats, why see F2F in a hot hub room? Higher risk and needs deep cleaning between patients. – at Sheffield, England
