“Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination
and life to everything.”

Mentre tu ti spari tutti i film di Jason, il mio guilty pleasure di sabato sera è guardare le @MarroneEmma performance live 👀🤘🏻
It’s cold today. Reed moisture must be monitored because cold air dries the tip faster once the player begins blowing warm air.
Pad seating is rechecked after the warm-up because leather contracts when cold and can leak until it softens.
The player’s hands and facial muscles also need the same warm-up interval or finger speed and embouchure consistency drop.
Until all three—horn, reed, and player—are at temperature, tuner readings and dynamic extremes are treated as provisional.🎷
Water in the octave pip is the most common “it was fine five minutes ago” problem. Warm breath hits cooler metal, a drop sits in the vent, and the high register either won’t speak or jumps when it shouldn’t.
Take the neck off, blow gently through the pip, blot the pad with cigarette paper, swab the neck. That’s usually the whole fix.
If it keeps happening, the pad is probably swollen or the cork under it has compressed. 🎷
