This is a @Sydney_Uni visual arts student at our picket line today. She was intending to come in to the studio, but turned round in solidarity with the @NTEUNSW strike. She could give a lesson to one or two of our colleagues about never crossing a picket line.

A growing number of Australians think the Albanese government hasn’t explained why Australia might need nuclear subs. Only 23% of people think it has. Scrap AUKUS now! ussc.edu.au/aukus-according-…

Exactly what is Labour celebrating today? That they retained their until ‘yesterday’ PM’s seat? Exactly what are the media chastising Zack Polanski’s for? Trebling the Green vote in said constituency? Pull the other one chaps. The UK’s establishment are only interested in one thing: to ensure that, in a country where everything must change, nothing that jeopardises their power changes. Dead keen to ensure that rivers of money continue to be wasted on inflating their ill-gotten assets, they see the Greens as a clear and present danger to said asset prices. They will do anything to keep Britain on the path of decline and toxicity that is consistent with the propping up of their rentier economy – at the expense of the economy of the vast majority. theguardian.com/politics/liv… Time to call them out.

The telegraph and daily mail are telling you to vote Labour in Holborn and St Pancras. Says it all! They are terrified of a Green win. Possibly something to do with their racist billionaire owners? Ignore the billionaire press. Vote Green 💚

Today I got directed by an anonymous @Sydney_Uni official to remove a Palestinian flag: 'the inclusion of what could be reasonably interpreted as blood splatters…, combined with a clenched fist, poses a psychosocial risk and is otherwise inappropriate'. I've refused to comply.

Congratulations to David Shoebridge on being elected Leader of the Australian Greens Party Room. David and I came into the Senate together in 2022, and I’ve watched him hold the powerful to account without flinching. He'll be a fierce leader for our movement.

Why doesn't Labor work with the Greens to tax gas? Why doesn't Labor work with the Greens to build public housing? Why doesn't Labor work with the Greens to end AUKUS? Greens are happy to be constructive about things that materially benefit the public. We are not a rubber stamp.

Over 3,500 Sydney Uni students just voted to cut ties with Israel. More than 4,000 turned out. 86% backed an academic boycott of Israeli universities and an end to research with weapons companies supplying Israel. Biggest campus boycott vote in Australia yet. Management called earlier votes unrepresentative. Thousands of students just answered. Cut the ties. Free Palestine.

Burke just announced visa overstayers will be put in detention. I guess Albanese must have felt left out of the “lock them up” frenzy sweeping the country. Labor are caving to Hanson, demonising migrants, and dragging this country towards an ICE-style system. Shame on them.
