The one big difference I'd add: the iPhone 5 and iPhone 6 Plus gave developers one week of turnaround time, though they've had a month-plus and hands-on development opportunities for the Duo.
The iPhone Duo reviews are some of the most brutal I've seen from an Apple product in a long time (Vision Pro aside). But I've been around long enough to remember the iPhone 5, iPhone 6 Plus and iPhone X. The app optimization issue is a non-issue and will be resolved in weeks.
Game plan is still the same: Touch-Screen MacBook Pro, 14-inch M6 MacBook Pro, new iMac, iPad mini OLED all set for next week.

Retail stores I've talked to are still sorting through the number of units they are expecting to receive by next Friday versus how many have been allocated for pre-orders. So any ruling on inventory for non-pre order customers is premature.
There's been zero communication to Apple retail stores saying this. Perhaps a manager at select stores told employees this, but nothing like this has been communicated to date. I'm not saying it won't happen, but it hasn't.
If anyone has experience ordering a phone from the T-Mobile website, can their shipping times actually be believed? Managed to order a Duo from them three hours after opening with an Oct. 28-Nov. 1 delivery. Seems basically impossible.

The statement focuses on "online" and says nothing about in-store availability. Just "experiencing" it in-store. Not a good sign for day one in-store availability for those without pre-orders.
