i've learned to look forward to @gradypb and @sonyatweetybird's annual letter — a lovely new tradition. grateful for the thoughtful discussion of what it means to be an ai-native product at the application layer and humbled to be included as an example.
the more we build at @Day_ai_app, the more clear it becomes that starting from scratch with LLMs as a given is not just a superficial change we could've bolted on to an existing system. it's a deep, counterintuitive shift in how we design and build *everything* all the way from UI, to data storage and privacy, and everywhere in between.
the real magic has been to watch those shifts compound on each other with each new layer of AI processing we put on top of the last. getting the foundations right is the only way to unlock that compounding intelligence, and requires a willingness to set aside many of our assumptions about building products from past experience. link to article in replies.
