LJC has filed a lawsuit on behalf of Allison Roberts, a Portland mother of two, challenging the district’s alleged retaliation against her for criticizing school policies and curriculum related to gender identity.

When Allison Roberts’ son brought home an “identity flower” assignment from school, she asked questions. Portland Public Schools responded by treating her as a threat & barring her from school for a year.

If Congress wanted the president to retain Section 338 power, why did lawmakers pass the Trade Expansion Act of 1962, which allowed for national security tariffs?
And the Trade Act of 1974, which gives the president power to go after other countries’ unfair trade practices?

8 years after Janus, the numbers don't lie: public employees have opted out of union dues in droves, saving tens of millions each year.
AND...public-sector unions have lost an estimated $791 MILLION in dues revenue since 2018.
That's money back in workers' pockets 💰💰💰

You have the right to leave your public union — and keep your job.
Since Janus v. AFSCME (2018), it's the law. Most workers still don't know it.
We help you exercise it.

Thanks to Janus v AFSCME your rights are spelled out in the Supreme Court Decision of June 2018. Use it.
3 things your union rep probably won't tell you:
1️⃣ You can opt out and keep your job
2️⃣ Your dues can fund politics you disagree with
3️⃣ You can request an accounting of where your money goes
Know your rights. afft.org
It would seem they can't handle the truth.
As the school year begins, we look forward to teaching @CTULocal1 a lesson on free speech.
CTU recently sued LJC for defamation over our criticism of the union.
We take the lawsuit seriously—and we’re not backing down.
But we also take something else seriously: the right to criticize powerful institutions and participate in vigorous public debate.
Organizations that exercise significant political and public influence should expect scrutiny, disagreement and criticism. That is part of a healthy free society. At LJC, defending that principle is quite literally our job.
CTU chose the lawsuit. LJC will keep choosing free speech.

CPS teachers shot down five furlough days in the budget.
The irony? Five days of the average teacher’s pay is roughly equal to annual union dues.
Want a five-day raise? Leave the union.

Too many students are trapped in a failing system, while teachers' unions prioritize politics over student outcomes.
When a school spends $93k per student, yet not a single 11th grader is proficient in reading or math and 100% of 12th graders are chronically absent, the system isn't serving students or taxpayers—it's serving unions. libertyjusticecenter.substac… @markjanusLJC

Three years ago, SCOTUS established a straightforward constitutional principle: when the government takes and sells a home to collect unpaid property taxes, it cannot keep more than it is owed.

✅ TRUTH: The four biggest public unions spent over $700 million on political activity in a single election cycle — 90%+ to one party.
That’s enormous political influence.
Public employees deserve transparency about where union money goes—and the freedom to decide whether to support it. 👏🏼👏🏼

Brown, a retired Cook County judge, wrote a political opinion column before returning to the bench.
