Introducing Mausbot 🎉
I was paying $30/mo for Grok Bot.
That's $360 a year. And it only works with Grok models.
So we built our own. Open source.
Same idea: a team of AI bots that work for you, 24/7.
Use the Claude, ChatGPT or Grok subscription you already pay for.
Ios and Android apps available too.
5.6k stars on GitHub. Updates every day.
Truly Open Source unlike others
Switched to Brave a few months ago from using Arc for years and never looked back.
Simple Hermes plugin called hermes-insight. You highlight any text and either respond to it or define the word. Very handy feature
github.com/BrokeSkill/Hermes…
Was moving a domain's DNS to Cloudflare for redirects. Hermes noticed my 200 URL list is over the redirect rules limit, so it built a Worker to handle the redirects and validate them at the same time. I didn't plan for that at all
OpenMausBot is a no-brainer over Grok Bot for me. Bring your own key, I use Claude, OpenCode and CommandCode. Feature parity feels like 80% and I run most things locally anyway.
Grok Bot only works with Grok models. Bots eat a lot of tokens anyway, so being tied to one plan's limits is the real problem.
Grok Bot is hard to use if you're not in the X ecosystem. You need a Cursor or SuperGrok sub just to start, and the base plan runs out of usage fast if you use the bot weekly.
Are you using your Claude sub through Hermes or inside Claude? Curious if the usage feels different for you too
Been running OpenMausBot instead of Grok Bot. It's open source, runs locally, and uses the subscriptions I already pay for.
Tempted to switch to OpenMaus Bot. Bring your own API keys is great, but I keep going back to Hermes. The skills and tools are already there, I don't wanna set up everything again
Installed the Hermes activity plugin and holy 3B tokens already since using it on September. PS. I don't do coding, mostly project and client work with huge contexts.
Weird problem to have, but I can't even burn through my weekly Claude usage before it resets. Pro plan, I think that's how good it is
Opus 5.5 and Sonnet 5.5 on most of my tasks lately. Lots of MCP tool calls and heavy project context, and it just keeps up
