$ICP AiFactory 🤫
Dr. @sohailmunir , Chairperson of the Pakistan Digital Authority (PDA), met with Dominic Williams (@dominic_w ), Founder and Chief Scientist of @dfinity , and @PierreSamaties , Chief Business Officer, for strategic discussions on establishing an AI Factory in Pakistan for developing production-grade software for the public sector, deployed on the PDA Cloud Engine.
The meeting involved detailed deliberations on developing a sovereign AI Factory focused on GovTech, government applications, and public-sector innovation, with the aim of strengthening Pakistan’s digital infrastructure and AI capabilities.
This marks the second high-level engagement between PDA and DFINITY this year, building on their earlier meeting, which culminated in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The initial collaboration also laid the groundwork for a significant international milestone: UNDP’s adoption of Pakistan’s sovereign Cloud Engines model, reinforcing Pakistan’s emerging role in sovereign digital infrastructure and government-led technological innovation.

thats because ICP is the only blockchain-based tech that has a relevant use case outside of the blockchain industry.
Where I picked it up:

$ICP is going to play an increasingly central role in computing, sovereign cloud, AI and security over the coming years.
With Pakistan and UNDP already on board and pilots planned with five more governments, the shift is already happening.
This isn’t just a vision for the future. It has already begun 🤫
$ICP is so next level.
Best video so far @BlockchainPill 👏
This is how the $ICP world domination begins 🌎

🚨 Most people are still sleeping on $ICP while partnerships with AWS are already in place through Cloud Engines. Check out @PierreSamaties giving more details on the upcoming Cloud Engines.

Hey @CoinMarketCap, why isn’t $ICP listed under the “Distributed Computing” category ? 👀
Your own description calls Internet Computer a decentralized general-purpose computing platform, where independent nodes provide the computing infrastructure and canisters execute computation on-chain.
Yet your Distributed Computing category currently lists projects like TAO, Render, Filecoin, BTT and others — but not ICP.
$ICP is literally designed to provide decentralized compute and host entire software systems on-chain - even AI.
What is the reason ICP isn’t included in this category? 🤔 @PierreSamaties
Why Open Cloud (Cloud Engines) could change the game for ICP completely 👀
Imagine a customer pays $1,000 for a Cloud Engine.
$1,000 USD
→ DFINITY buys $1,000 worth of ICP at the spot price
→ ICP is sent to the NNS / Cycles Minting Canister
→ the ICP is burned — permanently gone
→ the corresponding amount of Cycles is minted
Cycles are basically the fuel of the Internet Computer. They pay for compute, storage, memory and network usage. Unlike ICP, Cycles have a stable value and cannot be converted back into ICP.
The resulting Cycles are then split:
80% → Node Providers 💻
20% → Protocol fee → 🔥 BURNED
And here’s another interesting part:
The Node Providers don’t receive ICP that they could later dump on the market.
They receive Cycles, and Open Cloud says those Cycles are settled to USD monthly (or can be redeemed continuously).
So the flow is:
Customer pays $1,000 USD
→ $1,000 ICP bought on the spot market
→ ICP permanently burned
→ Cycles minted
→ 80% Node Providers / 20% Protocol
→ 20% of the Cycles burned
That creates a pretty direct link between real-world cloud usage and ICP burn.
More cloud demand → more ICP bought → more ICP burned.
And the providers get paid in USD, rather than receiving ICP that they could sell back into the market.
Of course, ICP also has inflation through protocol rewards, so the long-term supply effect depends on burn vs. minting.
But the mechanism itself is pretty interesting. 🔥
