💔 Susan Saint James (Aug. 14, 1946–Oct. 26, 2026) brought warmth and wit to generations of viewers as the Emmy-winning star of The Name of the Game, McMillan & Wife and Kate & Allie. She won an Emmy for The Name of the Game and earned further nominations for her later roles. She was 80 and had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Away from the screen, Saint James devoted decades to Special Olympics and spent much of her life supporting others through grief. After her 14-year-old son Teddy died in a 2004 plane crash, she helped other parents who had lost children. Her family remembered her as someone who “never met a stranger” and made each person feel seen. She leaves behind her husband, Dick Ebersol, 4 children and 7 grandchildren. 🕊️

💔 Seraphina Pereira, 35, was a devoted mother of 4 lovely children. After she went missing, her sister Davonna traveled from Albany to help search for her. “We were determined to find her,” she said. They went to the beach with a flashlight, hoping to bring Seraphina home—but learned she had been found dead along the Jamaica Bay shoreline. Davonna remembered her as “a wonderful person” who kept smiling through life’s hardships. Seraphina’s final Facebook posts celebrated her 5-year-old son’s birthday and shared a selfie with her daughter. Her boyfriend, 26-year-old Rogelio Lozano-Garita, was arrested and charged. Seraphina’s 4 children and family are left to grieve the loss of a woman they loved deeply. 🕊️
