I’m proud to be working with @tbh4justice and my law partner, Carlos Coye, to support students unfairly suspended for their peaceful protest in support of Palestinian liberation
The powerful believe that slaughtering 40,000 Palestinians is fine but student protests deserve harsh punishment. 5 courageous students are fighting back, suing UCI for its unprecedented and unconstitutional response to pro-Palestinian campus protest. Urgent thread! 1/7

I am proud to represent these students along with @massjulia at RSG Labor. Their involvement, along with other folks who wish to remain anonymous, has been instrumental. But we need more lawyers in the fight though. Please get in touch with me if you want to help! 7/7

That’s me 😁 and please support our @UniteHereLocal2
The price of a single salad & coffee that Kristine serves at SFO: $22. Her hourly wage: $18.30. A thousand fast-food workers at SFO are ready to strike, and it's no secret why. Our wages at the airport aren't enough to live on. We're going to change that.

“Go back to where you came from”?  Please, I qualify for membership in the Daughters of the American Revolution. You go home. I’m sad angry & frustrated, but I won’t take the bait. We are stronger together. #allies #stopaapihate #StopAsianHateCrimes bit.ly/3qSKvKR

19 unaccompanied children have tested positive for COVID-19 at a Chicago shelter. Last week, 6 kids tested positive in New York facilities. ORR needs to safely and quickly release children to sponsors. Congregate facilities are not safe.

Yesterday the Judicial Council held an emergency meeting and issued an emergency eviction rule which further expanded protections for tenants. THREAD:
California Tenants: @GavinNewsom signed an executive order delaying the eviction process due to #COVID19. I urge families who are facing an inability to pay their rent due to #COVID19 to act swiftly and preserve their rights. (Thread) oag.ca.gov/news/press-releas…

Californians have a big heart. We come together & give back to our communities when crisis hits. Unfortunately, there are scammers out there attempting to profit off of this generosity. I urge everyone to be vigilant & do their research before donating. oag.ca.gov/news/press-releas…

This was the other case argued at #SCOTUS today. Can a federal agent standing on the US side of the border shoot and kill a Mexican teenager on the Mexico side of the border with impunity? The US government says yes. The Court will decide.
Today the Supreme Court heard arguments on behalf of Sergio Hernandez's family and their search for justice 9 years after his death. Here's what's at stake👇

A federal court has ruled that the government’s suspicionless searches of international travelers’ smartphones and laptops at airports and other U.S. ports of entry violate the Fourth Amendment. A huge victory from @ACLU & @EFF. aclu.org/press-releases/fede…

We won't know the Court's decision until January at the soonest, but it could take until June. If you have DACA or if you've had it in the past, learn more on how to renew here: homeishere.us/daca-renewals-… #HomeIsHere 6/6

Important work uncovering the awful experiences of asylum seekers in U.S. immigration detention from @TomWongPhD
My new report based on intakes of over 7,000 asylum-seeking families provides systematic evidence of sub-standard conditions in immigration detention and mistreatment of asylum seekers. In many ways, it's worse than we thought usipc.ucsd.edu/publications/… 1\
