I always wanted to write an Electric Guitar Concerto but didn't think I knew enough about classical music to be able to do it. Then it occurred to me I know nothing about pop & rock music either & that never stopped me attempting to do that. So here it is! matarison.bandcamp.com/album…

Now I've finally got a decent bass guitar I can put a bassline to these guitar chords I made up about 20 years ago, after watching a documentary about Sugar Ray Robinson (hence the skipping).

When recording the video I didn't realise how revealing my shorts were, but when I upload onto TikTok later it will make a change to all the guitar vids by girls in short skirts that come top of the timeline.

I completely remastered my 1st album, replaced some synth bass with real bass and, best of all, replaced synth sax on "Berlin 1933" with REAL sax, played by the brilliant Richard Davies! matarison.bandcamp.com/album…

After 20 odd years I finally got a real saxophone on this track, played by the brilliant Richard Davies! 🎷 Out now on bandcamp

Here's the 'grand finale' of my "Electric Guitar Concerto No. 1 in A minor". I was going for a big, 'classical' style ending here.

I had already worked out the orchestration for this from the previous section & just worked out some chords that fit. But I had to abandon the 1st attempt after thinking it sounded a bit familiar, then realising I was playing the chords to "I will survive" by Gloria Gaynor 😆

Here's the solo part of my 'Electric Guitar Concerto' (out now on bandcamp!). This is 'hybrid picking', so I'm playing the low notes with the pick & plucking the high notes with my spare fingers. The low notes are also 'palm muted' & fretted with my thumb. It's quite tricky!

Here's the 2nd bit of the 3rd movement of my 'Electric Guitar Concerto' (out now on bandcamp!). It's 15 minutes long, so there's loads more of these coming, like it or not!

Here's the start of the 3rd movement of my 'Electric Guitar Concerto' (out now on bandcamp!). It starts out very straight, almost like a guitar picking exercise, but gets much freer & more emotional in the later parts.
