Comrade Neha is right in remembering 1942. The mass arrest of leaders could not stop the Quit India movement. Indeed Quit India turned out to be the biggest and most sustained demonstration of militant mass defiance against the colonial rule. In independent India, arrest of opposition leaders and student activists could not save the Emergency. Came 1977 and the Emergency regime had to go. This resurrection of colonial legacy or Emergency 2.0 is also doomed to fail.

10 days of work in 91 days. That’s the reality for rural workers under the new VB-G RAM G scheme - a far cry from the TVK govt's promised 150 days under #Vetri150.
With worksite caps slashed from 50 to 20, nearly 80 lakh active workers are being left behind. At this rate, rural households won't even see 30 days of work a year under this scheme.

Had joined AISA President Neha, Yogendra Yadav, noted lawyer Prashant Bhushan, transparency activist Anjali Bharadwaj, AIKM General Secretary Purushottam Sharma and scores of student activists and progressive citizens of Delhi at Jantar Mantar to demand resignation of #GyaneshKumar, immediate halt to SIR and restoration of the voting right of every wrongfully deleted voter. Delhi Police did not allow us to protest and detained us all. You can disrupt one demonstration and detain some of us, but the demand for resignation of Gyanesh Kumar which is now resonating across the country cannot be suppressed.
