Cancel culture is alive and well, but, at Corgi, we have thick skin and believe strongly in freedom of expression. For those who don’t know us, Corgi is an increasingly diversified financial institution, best known for our insurance products and generating hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue more quickly than any other financial services company before us. Our approach is simple: find parts of financial services that are slow, expensive, manual, or broken, and use technology to make them faster, better, and cheaper, while protecting people and companies when things go wrong. While it’s easy to focus on our (comparably small, our marketing team is around ~10 people) marketing efforts, the entire team consists of real heroes that have allowed us to scale faster than any other financial services company in history by offering good products that save people money, save them time, and protect them when things go wrong. If I’ve learned one thing about startups, it’s that VCs and very online figures care mostly about press and social media. However, real hackers and builders care about making a durable business, and that’s what we’re doing at Corgi. And to all the people trying constantly to get me to fire our team members for expressing themselves online: it’s not going to happen, and no, there aren’t KPIs tied to social media presence at corgi currently, we just haven’t censored our team historically nor are we going to start now. It’s a great thing that our team consists of culturally important figures who share their opinions, and companies would generally be more ambitious if they did not attempt to censor their team and revert to corporate slop.

Far gone are the days when ai research used to feel like this
So we’re already seeing testing for: Sonnet 5.2 Opus 5.2 Fable 5.2 Gemini 4 Pro And we have confirmation or hints of upcoming releases for: Grok 4.7 GPT-6-Sol (Sam and Tibo teased a big release on Tuesday, so this could be it) Kimi K3.1 (a vague post from Kimi seems to hint at 3.1) This week was pretty boring. But next week is probably gonna insane.

Funnily this tweet remind me of the late 90s when francis fukuyama put put out his essay on the end of history
absolutely NOTHING is going to happen, and here is why: technology is too interesting. we're not in boring 1910-1940s anymore, AGI-enabled UBI is around the corner, who cares about war? who cares about politics? none of this matters

The funny thing with all this is that nobody will say prof Mearsheimer didn't warm them. He said it all. Americans are very pragmatic about it and know they ways about it, euros are still putting tampons in men wahsrooms
People have no idea how close we are to WW3.

smartest move by google so far tell user you're helping them transfer memory from competitor, in return: >user does data cleaning for you >competitors provide the high-quality synthetic distillations >gets multi-turn rlhf data directly from your openai/anthropic chats. incredible

Jcal says Sam Altman provoked Jensen into directly competing with OpenAI "I think Jensen is going all in on open source based on these two acquisitions, Hugging Face and Poolside. I think Sam Altman poked the tiger." "If you look at what he did, he had done that huge $100 billion deal with $NVDA back in 2025. Then he announced the $AMD deal. Jensen was clearly not pleased about that." "Right after, Sam said he's going to make his own inference, jalapeño, and that he was going to do the deal with $AMD, then Jensen came out was like, 'Well, by the way, we don't actually have to do these investments in OpenAI.'" "I think he's speed-running open source, and you're going to be able to buy your entire stack from $NVDA next year. He is going to own open source. That is a really interesting moment in time because we were sitting here 6, 12 months ago saying open source would never catch up." "Jensen is doing an open source self-driving project. Now he owns Hugging Face, the leading open source indexer where everybody goes to try the new models.”

even if you can argue against vp Vance, i think he is wise for one thing: starting to think about it. what happens to your economic model in a multipolar world where you are not THE only superpower and your financial system is increasingly challenged by China/BRICS? if you listen to Prof. John Mearsheimer, you can correctly assess that the unipolar era ended in 2014. even if he would argue himself in favor of a maximalist policy, i’d say the US is long overdue for adapting its economics to the new world’s reality. until now it has been sanctions, sanctions, sanctions... come on guys, pull off some real stuff
It's worth emphasizing here: Vance is very directly arguing that it would be better if our money was worth less and we could consume fewer things. He explicitly argues to make America poorer. Do with that information what you will.

The legal dam just broke 👍 🇨🇳 China's 2021 Anti-Foreign Sanctions Law was always a sword waiting to be drawn China's Supreme People's Court (SPC) just officially stamped the first ruling as a "representative case" mandatorily applying the Anti-Foreign Sanctions Law — and the message is surgical: "US sanctions are not a defense in our courts" — and every multinational with a China contract just felt the ground shift! A Singaporean carrier refused to ship electronics from Shanghai to Panama because the Hong Kong client was on a US sanctions list. They returned the cargo. Caused losses. The Shanghai Maritime Court said: pay RMB 4.99M in damages. Article 12 of China's AFSL is an overriding mandatory provision — it doesn't matter what your contract says, what law you chose, or how scared you are of America's OFAC. If you help enforce foreign "discriminatory restrictions" against a Chinese party, you're liable. Full stop. No appeal filed. Judgment is final! This isn't one case. This is precedent being set at the highest level. The SPC just told every lower court in the country: sanctions compliance is not a defense. The geopolitical architecture here is the real story. Washington's entire sanctions toolkit relies on secondary sanctions — threatening third-country companies into compliance through fear. Beijing just flipped the board: comply with US sanctions in a Chinese jurisdiction, and YOU get sued. The "fear of OFAC" is no longer a shield. It's a liability! For decades, Western especially U.S. sanctions were the gravity that global commerce orbited around. Companies and Banks built entire compliance departments around it. Sanctions clauses were automatic, unnegotiable, baked into every template. Now there's a counter-gravity well. And it has teeth. If you're a carrier, a bank, a supplier — you can't just flip the switch on a Chinese counterparty because Washington says so. Not if you have assets or operations in Greater China. Not if you ever want to litigate or do business there again. The BLOWBACK is exquisite. The US built an entire extraterritorial enforcement regime on the premise that its domestic law has global reach — "long-arm jurisdiction," as the SPC itself called it. China is now deploying the same logic in reverse, but with actual statutory authority and now judicial precedent to back it. We're watching the fragmentation of global commercial law and compliance in real time. Two competing legal gravity centers. No neutral ground scmp.com/economy/china-econo…

The succinct version of why Dwarkesh is too pessimistic re RSI/ASI timelines is he doesn’t believe that people like Jared Kushner can really exist. Talent than can outperform domain experts after being dropped into a de novo environment like the Middle East and can ramp quickly using seemingly orthogonal skills. I’ve observed people like this my whole life but understand that they don’t surface with frequency outside of elite domains. There’s no reason to think this won’t carry through to AI.

Congo's economy grew nearly 6% in 2025, a year with essentially no cobalt exports & a rebel occupation of the two biggest cities in the east. It'll grow even faster this year. Copper at these prices can paper over a lot. 2-year copper price thru yesterday:

do you think genghis khan had a dashboard to give him operational insights
