There are some ongoing needs for cross-browser CSS support, but it will be quite interesting to hear how far one can get already.
By the way, there is also a katex fork specifically targeting MathML output, with more flexible font support:

Fantastic demonstration of using the web stack!
And it would be even better with MathML doing the heavy lifting.

Thanks to a first-time contributor, we have complete support for standard MathML markup in dream-html! discuss.ocaml.org/t/ann-drea…
Between this and SVG, the library now makes it trivial to reuse large pieces of code to render math and vector images.

TIL: It is possible to send HTML-E-Mails with #MathML, but (of course) GMail and OWA have problems displaying it. Apple Mail and the OpenSource Roundcube Webmail work perfectly fine. MathML on websites should work just fine, since Google Chrome joined the gang in 2023.

I'm always pointing out how nearly all of the work in MathML has been contributed from outside the main engine teams, so I want to be just as ready to point out when they do a good thing!!
Thanks @int32_t for fixing a whole bunch of new MathML tests!

Great news from arXiv and NIST!
LaTeXML is a MathML-capable conversion engine to HTML.
We are always delighted to see #MathML serve its intended purpose of making math syntax web-native and accessible to all.
Very proud of the #accessiblity work arXiv is doing with the help of @NIST and the wonderful, talented folks behind the #LaTeXML tool. This is a great, in-depth read to really understand the need, the challenges & how they are being solved!

Yes, as of 2023 the "level 1" layer of MathML Core is now supported, which covers the fundamentals.
There is more to desire in terms of advanced features (e.g. reflow, advanced alignments, full CSS interop), but you are safe to rely on MathML long-term.

Could this issue be font-related?
There is a nice multi-font demo by temml which renders <msub> well in Chrome. Could be helpful?

Nice! But it's likely about time for those @w3c pages to switch to native MathML support?
Some truly great MathML outreach by @XMLArbyter here!

Thanks @DanielWeck for spreading the MathML news!
"Great news! Chromium [...] now supports MathML natively. [...] Thorium 2.2 does not include this. [...] Download one of our test builds to try out MathJax or native rendering of MathML."
Great to see!

You can use @MathpixApp to obtain MathML from (nearly) any formula legible to a human eye.
You can also rely on tools such as @MathType for a visual editor that has MathML support built in.
And there is a large ecosystem of tools that can convert between MathML & other formats.
