Hear our newest #TeacherTalkTuesday discussion with @mathqueenjanine, an educator who began her career as a systems engineer, but now uses mathematical thinking as a motivator for her students to help them believe that they can reach success.
Do you remember when you joined X? I do! #MyXAnniversary I joined Twitter during my DFS (Detroit Future Schools) retreat!!! Such fun times...
I just received this notice... I do not carry a balance on my Macy's account, but purchased some clothes for my China Trip!!! I called the 1-800 number, closed the account, and threw the letter away...
This is the new interest rate on a @Macys credit card.
This is insane. We have reached late stage capitalism.
We work at Davis Aerospace Technical H.S. and when students rise, we all rise... #dpscd

WOW... I will look up Dr. Verrett's story and tell My students about her.
Happy Pi day everyone, we at Davis Aerospace Technical High School do it BIG!!! @Detroitk12 @MIEducator ⭕
I have former students and loved ones at Michigan State. I am sad that all of the students and the community at MSU had to experience this active shooter event. I am also very sorry for the 3 people who lost their lives and for the others who are injured.💔💚
I love this, and I love her...🔺
It is no coincidence that I will be singing the Black National Anthem, Lift Every Voice and Sing at the Super Bowl on the same date it was first publicly performed 123 years ago (February 12, 1900). Happy Black History Month! @nfl @rocnation @SavageXFenty
Tune in at 3pm/6pmEST.
I am thrilled that you are leading this important committee @SenPolehanki . Thank you for continuing to stand up for all educators and students. We appreciate your work.❤️
I'm voting for @pamlpugh Pamela Pugh for Michigan State Board of Education. She fights for our students and teachers, and works hard on the board to make education better in Michigan.
Vote for @pamlpugh ... I am.
I am running as a Democratic candidate for re-election to the State Board of Education with @mrobmused. Just because you don’t see our opponents, please know that the opposition is there and doing whatever it takes to “trump” up support.
And this is why we should teach our students and tell our parents that math is not just manipulating numbers and doing algebra. Real mathematics involves using thinking skills. Therefore, if you think, you are a mathematician...

Last month I hosted a week-long Summer Math Palette. The focus was strengthening basic math skills creating beautiful math art and hearing from dynamic women in the STEM fields. We had a blast, and my girls created the following art pieces that I put together on a t-shirt.
O.K. This may seem like a petty post, but my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE Ice Cream is Kroger Private Selection Chocolate Chip. I have been to 5 Kroger Grocery stores near Detroit (no Kroger stores in Detroit) and there is NO P.S. Chocolate Chip to be found
@kroger
What is the deal!😡
