It wasn’t 2%, it was 3%!
Here comes the Harvard professors shilling 3% inflation.
"A higher target inflation rate has costs, especially the time and attention people spend trying to account for how much their current dollars will be worth in a year or 10. But a higher target also has the benefit of helping cushion the economy against severe recessions."
It takes a tenured professor to think the main problem with inflation is trying to calculate how much your money's worth in 10 years 🤪
One could make the same reductive argument about stocks. Both would be false

At its core, gambling is what economist Paul Samuelson described as a "sterile transfer."

As if it’s about outcomes?
It’s about demolishing legal barriers to otherwise consensual transactions between two or more private parties.

Yet those benefits aren't always clear cut.
A University of Chicago study found “no change in overall per capita income” from gambling legalization in the cases it studied.

This is by design. Govt wants crypto activity happening at its vassal banks. This way they can conduct surveillance and enforcement thru a very compliant adjunct.
Systemically important banks are picking up more crypto business as they see the growth trajectory of the industry. The failure of their smaller peers represents a moment of opportunity for them to grow their own business lines. nymag.com/intelligencer/2023…

Learning the hard way is better than never learning because of regulation
Crypto firms like Celsius and Voyager pitched themselves as good alternatives to banks. Customers are learning the hard way that they weren’t. on.wsj.com/3cpq4Dx

Could a digital dollar be a cure for some of the United States’ financial instability?
Some US federal researchers think so. A paper examining #CBDCs found that they would warn regulars of impending distress, allowing them to act more quickly.

Fascism is neither an ideology nor the end of any spectrum/polarity.
It’s a garbled mess of collectivism.

400. Even the mildest conservatism contains within it the tiny seed of fascism, and even the mildest progressivism the tiniest seed of communism. The success of a modern society depends on keeping these seeds from growing, since they can never be fully expunged.

Everything went perfectly for #Bitcoin over the past year. Non-stop positive media coverage, unprecedented advertising blitz, mega conferences, growing political support, celebrity endorsements, mainstream adoption, institutional investment, ETFs, NFTs, El Salvador, #inflation...
Gold demonetized legally by the govt, functionally by stocks and housing.
Now btc demonetizing them all. Neither stocks nor homes have great store of value properties.
