THE BEST QUOTE EVER.
Lt. Col. Jeff Cooper, USMC:
“If violent crime is to be curbed, it is only the intended victim who can do it. The felon does not fear the police, and he fears neither judge nor jury. Therefore, what he must be taught to fear is his victim.”
Armed citizens are the real crime deterrent.

On this day in 1963, Capt. Humbert Roque “Rocky” Versace was wounded and captured while fighting an ambush in the U Minh Forest, Vietnam.
For the next 23 months he led his fellow American POWs, attempted escape four times despite untreated wounds, rejected Viet Cong indoctrination, and never broke. The last thing his brothers heard was Rocky singing “God Bless America” from isolation.
Unable to break his faith or his will, the enemy executed him on 26 September 1965. Remains never recovered.
He was the first Army POW awarded the Medal of Honor for actions in captivity. Awarded posthumously by President Bush in 2002.
West Point graduate. Ranger. Airborne. He had planned to become a priest after his tour.

92 days straight now, no breaks, no replacements, fighting teenage fanatics from the 21st Panzer Division in icy rain, and the casualty list grows each day, and you're the one compiling it.
Do they make them like this any more? Captain Anse Speairs, 157th Inf. Reg. Four amphibious invasions, over 500 days in combat WW2, liberated Dachau, served in Korea and Vietnam. One of greatest men I've ever known. Passed age 95, 2013. Photo by John Snowdon.

By constitutional convention, a government minister caught deliberately misleading the house is expected to resign from the executive.
Meaning #Albanese shouldn’t be in a job.
I expect you @AlboMP to front the cameras and resign tonight.
You are in clear breach.
You need to go.

The heat comes off the moment Albanese is gone.
Too many Australians are already choosing between a meal and the next bill, watching their small businesses bleed out, or dreading the next rate rise under this government.
They said it wouldn’t be easy under Albanese. F*ck off Albo!

T/Sgt. Don Malarkey is portrayed by Scott Grimes in "Band of Brothers". Of fighting in the brutal conditions around Bastogne in WWII in the winter of 1944-1945, Malarkey said the following:
"I’d started to wonder if it was only a matter of time before everyone in Easy Company was going to wind up like those frozen Germans you’d have to all but step over when heading to an outpost. We were like the shipwrecked sailors on a raft, waiting for the sharks. I felt hopeless. Numb. Not from the cold, as I’d been since we’d arrived in this god-awful forest December 19, but from something that chills you far deeper inside you: death. We’d lost more than a dozen guys in the last few weeks, some of whom were my friends. You see a dead enemy soldier and you say, 'At least it wasn’t one of ours.' You see a dead American soldier—one of your own—and you say, 'At least it wasn’t me.' You lose a friend and you say, 'To hell with this. Get me out of here.' At the same time, though this might sound strange, you almost envy the peace they now have. No more being cold. No more war. No more pain. All that bad stuff gets left to those of us who remain."

I usually save this annual post for Veterans Day on November 11th, but given the importance of the current election, I heard their voices from the grave…and this is what they said:
Not a single Soldier, Sailor, Airman or Marine has ever enlisted, trained, fought, bled or died for the cause of socialism, Marxism or communism.
NOT.ONE.EVER. 🇺🇸🙏🏻😔
