Nice read about the Trump administration’s behind-the-scenes concern about the impact the Files have on the President. It’s also telling how they have not directly addressed allegations by two women who claimed they were sexually assaulted by Trump as minors. substack.com/@jkbjournalist/…
NEW: 9 people familiar with information that was submitted to the FBI + DOJ in recent years told me they were alarmed that *many* documents—including those that they say include references to Trump—were not made public. @TheAtlantic theatlantic.com/politics/202…

How very Putin. Will be more challenging for military families to get accurate information and when wronged to expose the injustice. This is what an administration does that puts itself and propaganda over fidelity to our own servicemembers and truth. cnn.com/2025/02/07/media/pen…

In its simplest terms, the apparent demise of #USAID is the result of the world's richest man ending a program that helps millions of poor people. You don't need a Ph.D. in moral theology to see why this is an evil. You can just read Jesus's parables on the rich and the poor.

Please read this statement from the family of Rebecca Lobach. Read every damn word. And then share it with anyone you know who still cheers on this sorry excuse for a President. The President of the United States, the Vice President and the Secretary of Defense claimed, without evidence, that this accomplished warrior was only in the pilot’s seat because of “DEI”. She was in the top 20% of cadets nationwide—and it’s pathetic and disgusting that her family had to issue this statement to the country to justify her seat even in her death because the leaders she served under blamed her for the accident in front of the White House press corps within 12 hours of the crash on baseless speculation that she was unqualified because she was a woman. If you’re an American—or even if you’re just a decent person—this should make you burn.
Statement from the family of Rebecca Lobach, one of the pilots on the Black Hawk helicopter which crashed in D.C.

My dad likes to say he goes to the track just enough to remind himself why he doesn’t go more often. I get it.

Vindman has lived his life in service to this country, personifying the ideas and ideals on which this nation was founded — a profile in courage juxtaposed against Musk’s man-child opportunist who has made clear he is incapable of thinking beyond himself.
Elon, here you go again making false and completely unfounded accusations without providing any specifics. That’s the kind of response one would expect from a conspiracy theorist. What oligarch? What treason? Let me help you out with the facts: I don’t take/have never taken money from any money from oligarchs Ukrainian or other otherwise. I do run a nonprofit foundation. The HereRightMattersFoundatiom.o… to help Ukraine defend itself from Russia’s unprovoked attack on Feb 24, 2022. I served in the military for nearly 22 years and my loyalty is to supporting the U.S. Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic. That’s why I reported presidential corruption when I witnessed an effort to steal an election. That report was in classified channels and when called by Congress to testify about presidential corruption I did so, as required by law. You, Elon, appear to believe you can act with impunity and are attempting to silence your critics. I’m not intimidated.

Vindman represents the best of America; Musk is Trump. I’m #grateful for the so many Americans who recognize the difference…and for the Bluesky thing. Posting here to note I’m over there. Happy Bird Day.

Witnessing people who range from wealthy to obscenely wealthy, and these people who have a spotlight and varying degrees of power as they fold before the authoritarian, in order to preserve their wealth and luxury — I think of the so many men and women of our military …

… who have given their lives to protect democracy against authoritarians; I think of men and women like John Lewis who endured beatings and cracked skulls on a bridge to lead us to the other side. Why does it always seem like those with the least sacrifice the most.

Trump and Musk beginning what will be a never-ending worldwide barnstorming tour of leveraging the power of U.S. govt./economy/military to advance and enrich themselves and their oligarch-posse. Good times.
NEW - as we just reported on @TheLeadCNN: French Pres. Emmanuel Macron is set to invite President-elect Donald Trump and @elonmusk to Paris for a summit on AI in early Feb - joining a growing list of world leaders extending in-person invitations for Trump & co.

In the ongoing game of Duck-Duck-Twitter-Threads-Bluesky, I’m on the Bluesky using the handle here in da bio. What a circus.

The idea Congressional Trumpers have issues with cabinet picks accused of sexual assault, sex with a minor; who are white nationalists & propagandists for authoritarians is absurd.

Their leader is an adjudicated rapist, felon fraud who admires Hitler and sides with Putin over U.S. intelligence. … Like, these aren’t deal-breakers for this administration; they are requirements

If it’s not the sexual assault, it’s the white “Christian” nationalism, or the idiocy or the conflicts or interest, or the flat-out corruption … He said he wants generals like Hitler’s generals. People need to stop pretending this is a coincidence. wapo.st/4fKCkKj

These insanely unfit, unqualified picks for the most powerful roles in government that are making America weaker—he’s not yet even begun. Wait til has a whole cabinet like this in place, and as president starts doing whatever he wants, *grabbing* whatever he wants because he can.

What Putin has been able to accomplish is remarkable: He installed a useful idiot-chaos agent in the highest office, who is installing useful idiot-chaos agents. A whole party captured and turned against democracy. Putin is turning America into a gigantic soft target.
