I think Duet and Dots are the wrong form factor for the enterprise because they aren't AGI-pilled enough. The major agent releases today (Grok Bot, Duet, Dots, Muse, Instinct) all act as an "AI Chief of Staff." This allows each employee to get their work done faster, but it doesn't always make a company move faster. Executing is no longer the bottleneck, so even proactivity on individual tasks isn't necessarily a big win. Models need to understand organizations and align with the overall mission to truly move the needle. They have demonstrated goal-directed strategic behavior in simulations: alignment.anthropic.com/2026…. The missing skill is aligning the models to the right goals. Until then, humans have to continue solving coordination. Anecdotally, I've heard "in the high MTS circles" that a lot more time for frontier researchers is now spent on meetings for coordination since agents are doing most of the implementation and execution. The rest of the industry will soon face this bottleneck. The AGI-pilled form factor is a model with autonomy that acts at the same level as other employees. A true collaborator rather than someone to manage.

Multiple independent Garmin trackers recorded Nirmal Purja “Nims Dai” 10 elite climbing team on Broad Peak drop in minutes (9:38 AM). Yet, the official alarm wasn’t raised until 10:00 PM. Why did Base Camp ignore the telemetry for 12.5 hours? 🧵 THREAD DISCOVERY 👇 #Nimsdai

The Industrial Revolution gave us 40x physical capabilities. What happens when AI gives us 40x cognitive capabilities? Today we're launching "the interface by Santori" - a content series exploring human-computer interaction, AI interfaces, and the future of work. First piece: "The Next Great Leap: AI and the Cognitive Revolution" 🧠 Link in comment 👇

More and more, I have lost conviction that “minimum viable products” make sense for product development. It makes no sense to release a product with the core flow and then dismiss its viability after the aggregate data says people aren’t using it. Instead, founders should have a fundamental belief about what people want—and they should keep iterating until that value is correctly surfaced. In practice, this means you should keep a steady flow of new users as you add components to the product, seeing if it solves a core part of the activation and signup loop. The only part that could possibly be “half-baked” is those individual components. But even those need sufficient quality so there are no confounding factors that distort the signal.

Based on seeing lots of companies, 98% of what people are calling AI agents are not what the AI labs would call agents. They are usually structured document retrieval systems with a prompt or two for summaries, there is very little control or decision-making given to the AI.

When you start a startup, so many people tell you to ship fast and ship messy. "You’ll know you have PMF when people use your broken product." I think this is outdated advice that doesn't work anymore in 2024. Maybe better today would be: "ship fast, small scope, high quality"

Abel (YC W24) can transform thousands of legal document and evidence into detailed chronologies, explainers and deposition summaries that normally would take discovery teams weeks to months to unearth LLMs + custom entity extraction = results ycombinator.com/launches/KdK…
