oh noooo! i have said before that i would loveeee to read like an atp tour fic for gego -- i think they'd be really good for it. but in my head it's like a 100k fic and i don't have it in me to write that
i rlly love when a fic writer has written for a bunch of fandoms and you get to click through and see what all theyβve been into over the years
everyone in my book club is 10-20 years older than me and it is the first time in my life i have ever felt like. genuinely under-read (maybe not a word but whatever the opposite of well-read is lol) and i knowww it's not even possible for me to have read as many books BUT STILL
sometimes you read a book and you can just tell that an author put SO much love and care and time and energy and research into it, and they must have felt so compelled to tell THIS story and wanted so desperately to get it right as they saw it in their head
i touched on it very briefly when i did a thread about dialogue (i'll link it below) but i could def go more in depth about how to work dialogue in more seamlessly and why it matters so give me a bit and i'll gather some more thoughts!
Replying to @maybebbplease
specifically for dialogue tagging β you can use said! do not be afraid to use said! itβs a word that the brain skips over when reading, so itβs fine to use. i think the times when it feels repetitive are when the cadence isnβt changing at all in the conversation.
