If Democrats win where they never win or haven’t won in ages, it’s not just because people turned on Trump. It’s because people are drowning. And they don’t want a one-time check or bailout. They want to break the systems pushing their heads underwater.
What does it look like to do that?
Break up the insurance giants that get fatter and richer while we get sicker. Don’t just investigate. Break them up.
Make healthcare a right. Give every new mom paid maternity leave. Stop this insane thing where Europeans pay less for American medicines than Americans do.
Labor unions are some of the most popular institutions in this country. Make it radically easier to form them.
If AI makes people radically more productive — if, there’s no evidence it does yet! — then listen to Shawn Fain and move to a 4 day workweek. The Senate passed a 30 hour workweek in 1933. Are we better than 1933?
And when those new elected officials who rode this wave are told “No, you can’t do that" or they’re asked “How will you pay for that?”
They should ask: How come there’s always money for bombs and never money for moms or teachers or kids or small business owners or anyone who isn’t a billionaire?
How come corporate profits are at their highest while corporate taxes are the lowest – and workers’ share of those riches are through the floor?
In 1890, Congress began to build an architecture to check the trusts, to check their version of corporate power. They reinforced that scaffolding and expanded it in 1914, 1936, and 1950.
The key question now is not “How do we maximize the next 2 years?” or “How do we repair that scaffolding?” – much as we should do that.
The key question now is: How do we start a 10 or 20 year project to pass the next generation of laws that protect regular people?

“The war is not meant to be won, it is meant to be continuous.” — George Orwell, 1984
Defense contractors & their powerful lobby will never be satisfied with simply aiding the U.S. in building a strong military that is prepared for war.
The nature of the industry’s existence is not patriotism, but endless conflict. War is their business model—a perpetual state of war ensures a perpetual demand for their products.
Until we address this issue, we will continue to be subjected to forever wars that only serve the defense contractors—and the warmongering interests wealthy enough to rent the defense contractors.
Stop spilling American blood for profit.

Returning to the “normal” that created Trump will create another Trump.
Dems again refusing to deliver for the working class will deliver a worse Trump.
The liberalism of restoration rather than the left-leaning populism of transformation will end up restoring MAGA.
Some of us have said this — and have been vilified for saying it — for the last 30 years.
It is as true now as it always has been.

🚨 “Where are we supposed to go?”: Israeli forces push the “yellow line” further into Gaza
Displaced Palestinians are fleeing near Shujaiya intersection, east of Gaza City, after Israeli forces pushed the “yellow line” westward to within 10 meters of Salah al-Din Street, leaving residents inside the Israeli-occupied area.
Drop Site contributor Mohamed Ahmed filmed families gathering their belongings and fleeing the camp.
“There's nothing left for us to sleep on. Everything has been destroyed. They've devastated us,” Mohammed Al-Fayoumi said. “Where are we supposed to go? We flee west, and there's nowhere for us there. We flee east, and it's the same thing.”
Anis Herzallah described the constant threat from Israeli military operations. “At night we have howitzers, quadcopters, tanks, Apaches and F-16s — all of them attacking us from the yellow line,” he said. “If we had somewhere else to take shelter, we wouldn't have come here.”
“We're dying here every minute, every second,” Herzallah said.
Osama Mushtaha said families had sought refuge in the camp because they had nowhere else to go, despite its lack of basic necessities. “The yellow line used to be approximately 200 meters away from us. This morning, it was only 10 meters away,” he said.

The Pentagon has failed every financial audit since Congress started requiring them in 2018. That's eight years in a row. It's the only major federal agency that has never passed one.
That means auditors haven’t been able to verify:
-What weapons and equipment the department actually owns
-Where billions of dollars in assets are located
-Whether spending matches what Congress approved
The Pentagon gets more money from Congress each year than any other agency. And no one, not even the Pentagon, can fully account for where it goes.
Maybe that's not incompetence. Money nobody can trace is money nobody can be held accountable for.
One thing we do know for certain: while the department can't pass a basic accounting check, weapons CEOs keep getting richer off it.

Fun fact: Nebraska's all-GOP House delegation just voted for the resolution condemning socialism - while they represent the only state whose electricity is 100% provided by socialist, publicly owned power utilities, which have kept electricity prices among the lowest in America, according to the Trump administration’s own Energy Department👇
