I’ve spent this year immersed at @vercel, and now it’s time for me to get back to building. It’s been a whirlwind of experiences, surrounded by GOATs 🐐 and I am grateful to have been a part of it. Things I’m proud of: ✦ Helping shape the community platform, including Vercel’s own hackathon platform, and events / meetups spaces ✦ Growing our London presence and creating builder experiences across multiple community events, including bringing Vercel’s biggest UK hackathon to life ✦ Leading the Vercel IRL program, supporting the people bringing builders together across the globe ✦ Growing community partnerships and raising the profile of London’s best tech communities at Day Zero, our biggest dev community gathering in London ✦ Building out community systems, including our internal AI agent for community operations ✦ Sharing rooms in collaboration with the coolest partner companies and people from @OpenAI, @supabase, @cursor_ai, @GoogleDeepMind and more ✦ Getting up on stage to deliver educational yaps about the ways of shipping with Vercel Above all, one of the things I will treasure most about my time here is the people, both inside and out. The way Vercelians have shown up, even in their own time, to share their knowledge with the community and to lend a helping hand, it’s unmatched. I’ve also learned and been inspired by many talented folks across the org who are doing great things. And of course, shout out to the Vercel Community! It’s been wonderful to connect with so many of you. There’s a lot of energy and care that’s put in behind the scenes, and event days can be long and tiring - but they were also super rewarding. I loved talking with builders about their ideas and what they are cooking. Yes our events were a space to learn about Vercel, but they were also a space where people could try new things, meet new friends, and almost always, there were people making things exist. I loved to see it - rooting for you all! For the final time “this is your friendly reminder, you can just ship things”. 🖤

New post on why I redesigned my portfolio the way I did. There's a lot behind making it simple, complex, and genuinely mine. Proud of this one. hugorcd.com/writing/how-i-re…

london has so many great builders. we just launched london legends to tell their stories. first up: elston barretto, who bootstrapped tiiny host to £1M ARR. more stories like this coming soon.
Apparently you have to leave London to build something big. @_baretto didn't get the memo. He built a £1M ARR web hosting tool from London, solo and fully bootstrapped. Introducing our new interview series: London Legends ☀️👇

The more software becomes “cheap” to build, the more valuable care and trust becomes. We are entering a world where, with AI and agents, almost anyone can build almost anything. I could open an agent today, ask it to recreate some version of Linear for my team, and probably end up with something that works. But that is no longer the whole point. Would I want to maintain it for years? Keep adding features? Obsess over every interaction? Put in the work required to give every user the best possible experience? Probably not. I don’t wake up every morning to ship soulless, mediocre things, I’d rather let someone else do it. This is what I find so remarkable about Linear. Even for a feature announcement, they go much further than necessary. They create a 30-second film where everything has been considered: the concept, the motion, the typography, every piece of text, every transition, the sound design. It is detailed, complex and beautiful. Not because it had to be, but because they care. And when a team puts that much love and passion into presenting a single feature, I trust that the same level of care exists everywhere else: in the product, in the details, and in what they will still be improving years from now. That is what makes me trust them. That is what makes me want to use their product rather than build my own version of it. In an age of infinite software, building something will no longer be the hardest part. Caring enough to keep refining it, maintaining it and making it exceptional will be. Everyone will be able to build. Very few will care this much.
New capabilities for Linear Loops: • Trigger from project, initiative, cycle, and issue changes • Edit documents automatically • Send tailored Slack updates 🔗: linear.app/changelog/2026-09…

🥈 2nd place was a nice surprise after a very jet lagged and sleep deprived week 🥹 since last comp, I’m down 11kg in BW which means re-calibrating for a new weight class (and eventually building the strength back up) very happy with 5/6 lifts made to wrap the 2026 comp season! 🏋🏻‍♀️
