In April 2023 I asked the Santa Clara City Council to rename the city "Swiftie Clara" for the 2023 Eras Tour. On July 18, the city made it official. Video here: youtu.be/FE1oHfko1w4?t=6091 Discussion starts at 1:31:47 Comments of Vice Mayor Park at 1:41:31 My comments at 1:47:57

Sept. 27, 2026: The first time in world history that a married couple had both a touchdown catch and an MTV Video Music Award in the same day. Congratulations, Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift on this amazing accomplishment.

We're not saying that Amy Kaufman's column on Taylor and Travis inspired Taylor Swift's new single, but we're not NOT saying it. latimes.com/entertainment-ar…

Did this L.A. Times story inspire Taylor Swift's new single?

Former Times staffer Amy Kaufman's column might have entered Swift's songwriting canon, as many of the singer's fans seem to believe today.

“Taylor Swift is patient zero for emotional contagion,” @amykinla writes in her latest column examining how Swift and Travis Kelce captured the attention of pop-culture obsessives the world over. latimes.com/entertainment-ar…

Column: Taylor and Travis' whirlwind romance is the love story we've been waiting for

How did an unlucky-in-love pop star and a good-natured tight end become America's sweethearts almost overnight? The obsession runs deeper than fame, our columnist writes.
