🚨Rio Ferdinand on where Michael Carrick got it wrong as Manchester United lost 2–0 to Hull City: 🗣️ Rio Ferdinand: “Listen, when I saw the starting lineup and then heard Carrick confirm that Amad was injured, I immediately looked at Hull’s back five and thought, ‘Sesko should have started this game.’ If Amad isn’t available and you know Hull are going to defend with five, you need a proper presence in the box. Bruno and Tielemans are both capable of delivering quality crosses, so why not have your big striker attacking them? “You don’t necessarily need Luke Shaw at left-back either. Dorgu could have held that position, with Cunha playing through the middle and Mainoo starting alongside Tielemans. For me, only one of the two new midfield signings should have started. Santos and Tielemans are both new to the team, and putting them together immediately in a difficult away game was a risk. “Then you have Mbeumo on the right, Cunha supporting the attack and Sesko occupying those centre-backs. Suddenly, you’ve got a team that can stretch Hull, attack crosses and create problems in the box. Instead, United made it easier for Hull to stay compact. “And that’s the frustrating part. Hull showed their hand very early. They had five defenders, four midfielders and were protecting the central areas. United needed to recognise that and change the way they attacked. You cannot keep trying to play through the middle when the opposition has deliberately put a wall there. “I’m not putting the whole defeat on Carrick because the players have to take responsibility as well. They lost too many individual battles and didn’t show enough intensity. But the manager has to look at the game and ask himself whether he picked the right tools for the job. “Manchester United had enough quality to win this match. But against a newly promoted side sitting deep, you have to pick a lineup that can force them out of their shape. I don’t think Carrick did that from the first whistle.”

🚨I know we won 2–0, but I’ll be honest: — We hit the woodwork twice — Donnarumma pulled off absolute worldies, Bro made 3 high expected-goal saves. — 3 goals disallowed for offside This should have been a biblical belting, we could have scored SEVEN goals against Manchester City today. beautiful attacking performance but... While our attacking performance deserves a lot of credit, we also need to highlight how we conceded zero shots on target against a City side with Haaland, Foden, Cherki, Semenyo and Doku. Calmly read that again... ZERO SHOTS ON TARGET against one of the top three attacking forces in football over the last five years. The way Carrick set us up defensively out of possession was super fantastic. We had only one clean sheet in 23 games before today and this was arguably our best defensive performance of the season. When someone asks you what Manchester United’s “DNA” is, tell them to watch that game back. That’s your answer right there. It isn’t something you can easily describe, you just know it when you see it. #MUFC

In case you missed these from post-finale interviews this week, here are all the details confirmed by the Duffer Brothers: - Hopper and Joyce realized Vecna was their former schoolmate off-screen during Seasons 4 and 5. - Only the Duffers and Millie Bobby Brown know Eleven’s true fate. - On the absence of Demogorgons in the finale: “Vecna wasn’t expecting a sneak attack on his home turf. They’re still out there somewhere.” - It’s left up to audience interpretation whether Robin and Vickie are still together, and whether Jonathan and Nancy get back together. - The upcoming live-action spin-off will explore the backstory of the rock inside the briefcase. No ‘80s setting, no returning characters, no Hawkins. - There isn’t a single deleted scene from Season 5. However, some takes from the final scene were trimmed because there was “too much crying.” - It remains ambiguous whether Henry Creel was manipulated by the Mind Flayer. - Holly Wheeler and her friends were not originally planned to be part of Season 5. #StrangerThings5

Confirmed: there is no Episode 9 🚨 #ConformityGate is just a marketing narrative pushed by fans unhappy with the ending. Episode 8 was the real finale. Next Monday we get the documentary — be excited about that.

I enjoyed every second of this. It gives all insight into Amorim's system too. If you've got 10 mins of your time to spare, it'd be absolutely worth it. If just 5 people see this to the end, I'm good. PS: this isn't my video and I can't find the OP here on X.

🚨🎙️ | Ruben Amorim COOKS: “I remember that all the media and fans were saying that a Manchester United manager must have a philosophy and an identity. Everyone was saying that when the previous coach said he couldn’t play the same way here as he did at his former club. Everyone was saying that he had been hired for his philosophy and his style of play, and that he wasn’t applying it here. So, the system isn’t the problem. It’s the results. If you don’t win, people will point the finger at something. We will change our way of playing, but it will take time. I do things at my own pace. If I look at the matches, I think we’ve been unlucky. Luck that we can turn around by being more aggressive and more confident. Sometimes we play well, but it lacks conviction.” ISN’T THIS THE TRUTH?

Having slept on it, I do think last night, as bad as it was, is being blown massively out of proportion. Last year, Liverpool lost to Plymouth in the Cup, even SAF United went out to York City (lost 3-0). In reality, keeper costs us 2 goals. Its football, these things happen

Let’s be honest, it was a pretty crap final, but Ange outsmarted Amorim today. Got his players to keep putting balls in the box because he knows we can’t defend them well. He wrapped his best CBs in cotton wool these last two months. Went 1-0 up and put 11 men behind the ball because he knows we can’t score or break teams down. Players didn’t show up today and made it easier for Tottenham than it should’ve been, but Ange got his game plan right. We fell into the trap, and Tottenham got the luck of the draw a bit today — scoring a goal that could’ve been easily prevented and a Micky van de Ven goal-line clearance. But we never really tested Vicario until that Luke Shaw header at the end. Disappointment is an understatement. Honestly think we could’ve done so much more today. I did not like Amorim’s approach. How does Mainoo get 2 mins, btw? Casemiro and Bruno have been so good lately, but poor today. Maguire shakey. Hojlund invisible. Onana does not fill the defence with any confidence does he.
