I’m not supposed to be writing columns, because I’m working on a book, but I had to put down how there’s absolutely no reason the normalcy my kids have in Florida can’t be had by kids in blue areas. Stop the madness. In Wednesday’s @nypost nypost.com/2022/01/11/normal…
I am pro-vaccines and anti-mandates. This mandate is a massive government mistake and a government overreach. And the courts are agreeing with us. But under Joe Biden's economy, if you don't want to get vaccinated, you're not allowed to earn a paycheck.

Great! Can they also update their guidance for risk to align with the NFHS SMAC that no longer endorses the use of the tiered “Potential Infection Risk by Sport”? The NYSDOH’s outdated guidance is being used by counties & SDs to mandate testing of so called “high risk” athletes.

@RobertZayasNY @Gregg_Sarra Dr Zayas, Are you going to continue to sit by silently and watch boys lacrosse players get tested all season after the NCAA reclassified lacrosse to moderate in Nov & the NFHS SMAC(on which you sit) got rid of the tiered infection risk by sport in Jan?
Replying to @Gregg_Sarra
NFHS update “The great majority of sports-related spread of COVID-19 does not appear to occur during sports participation, but from social contact” Zayas sat on this committee that revised this but NYSDOH is too busy to amend their guidelines. nfhs.org/media/4295118/nfhs-…

Please explain the difference in risk. Ask your boss to back up his claims.

I see no logical reason why parents would not be allowed at outside sporting events for High School. You could literally stand 20 ft apart around the field. How is that a risk???? God for bid your kid gets hurt at a game and the parents not there for support.

Athletes, coaches and parents aren’t the only ones who want the games to begin. On Monday...Assemblyman @colinschmitt wrote a letter to Gov. Cuomo in an effort to get ALL scholastic sports back on the field. And he told us tonight he’s not alone. @News12LI @News12WC @NYSPHSAA

I can’t speak on indoor sports but there is a ton of documented evidence that football was played safely throughout the country this fall. We need NY HS Athletic Leadership to step up & get football’s designation changed from high to moderate risk. @RobertZayasNY this is ur job.

Sports, performing arts are vital to the social, emotional health of HS students. Playing on a team may be one of the only positive aspects in some of their lives. Here's what we're doing to aid in the healthy, safe return to the activities they love: foxnews.com/opinion/coronavi…

Can you please find out how they are labeling certain sports “high risk”?There is no difference between contact in boys soccer & lacrosse except lacrosse is safer b/c a helmet & mouthpiece are required. This needs to be taken care of before another HS spring season is taken away
