tBTC Pause and Security Update: November 4, 2026
tBTC remains fully backed, and no funds have been lost. Approximately 4,320 BTC is held in the bridge wallets against roughly 4,185 tBTC in circulation, with no unauthorized minting or BTC movement detected. You can independently verify the backing on-chain through app.threshold.network/explor…
▶ Bridge Operations:
Deposits, mints, and redemptions remain temporarily paused while we complete security maintenance on the bridge. We expect to share an estimated timeline for resuming the bridge soon.
We'll post the next update within 48 hours, or sooner if there are material developments. We appreciate the community’s patience as we complete the necessary security measures.

tBTC pause and security update
tBTC remains fully backed, and no funds have been lost. About 4,320 BTC sits in the bridge wallets against roughly 4,185 tBTC in circulation, and we've seen no unauthorized minting or movement of BTC. You can verify the backing on-chain here: app.threshold.network/explor…
As a precaution against a recently disclosed Linux kernel vulnerability (CVE-2026-98432), which can allow remote code execution on unpatched servers, every tBTC node operator has either patched their servers or taken their nodes offline until a fixed kernel is available. So far, we have not found evidence that this vulnerability was used to exploit any tBTC node.
Separately, earlier today, one node operator reported a security incident in its broader infrastructure, unrelated to the kernel vulnerability, in which the Ethereum account its tBTC node uses to pay transaction fees was drained of about 0.5 ETH. The operator's tBTC node was already offline at the time, and the operator has found no evidence that its signing key material was accessed.
tBTC wallets require a majority of independent operators to sign any Bitcoin transaction, so no single operator can move funds.
Bridge functionality will resume once security maintenance is complete and nodes are back online on patched systems.
We'll post the next update within 24 hours, or sooner if anything changes.

tBTC remains fully backed and no funds have been lost. Currently, 4,320 BTC sits in the bridge wallets against roughly 4,185 tBTC in circulation, and we've seen no unauthorized minting. Reserves can be verified on-chain here: app.threshold.network/explor…
New deposits/mints and redemptions remain paused while security maintenance on the bridge is completed.
The situation is contained and bridge functionality will resume once a full remediation is in place.
tBTC continues to transfer normally on Ethereum and L2s.
If you have a deposit or redemption in progress, it will complete after operations resume. Please don't send BTC to previously generated deposit addresses or repeat a transaction in the meantime.
We'll post the next update within 24 hours, or sooner if anything changes.

tBTC minting and redemptions temporarily paused
We have temporarily paused new BTC deposits/tBTC minting and new Bitcoin redemption requests through the Threshold app as a precaution while security maintenance is completed. Pending redemptions may still be paid on Bitcoin, but final settlement on Ethereum is paused and some transactions may be delayed.
Please do not send BTC to previously generated deposit addresses or initiate new deposit/mint or redemption operations through alternative interfaces during this pause.
If you have already deposited BTC, keep your deposit receipt and transaction hashes. Do not repeat the transaction to try to clear a pending status. You can continue checking its status in the app’s Explorer.
This pause does not affect holding, transferring or using tBTC.
We will share confirmed updates, including an estimated time for resuming normal operations when available, through Threshold’s official channels. Thank you for your patience.
‼️ Please DO NOT send BTC to previously generated deposit addresses or initiate new deposit/mint or redemption operations through alternative interfaces during this pause.

Jensen closed his GTC Berlin 2026 keynote with this Hermes Agent demo as the finale.
He introduced it by saying the way to build an agent is to ask an agent to build it for you, so he installed and set up a customized Hermes in one prompt.
Then he used Hermes, running on @nvidia RTX Spark, to create a simulated training environment for the @huggingface Microduck. Hermes planned an obstacle course with Nemotron and had GPT-6 Astra build it using FreeCAD, Omniverse libraries, Blender, Newton, and Isaac Lab. Hermes trained thousands of simulated ducks on that course until the validated policy was ready to run on the real robot in the physical world.
At Nous, we believe open source is a practical tool as much as a philosophical ideal. It gives users the ability to build powerful, complex workflows chaining numerous local+cloud models, devices, and tools themselves instead of waiting for a company to enable them.

So basically, today PHP got two critical bugs that let anyone run code on your server without even logging in, which is bad, and then the details leaked before the patch was even out, which is worse, and it works on WordPress and MediaWiki and Magento and Joomla and Laravel, and Censys says like 1.5 million servers are running a version with no fix, so the NSA was like "take your system offline," and the FBI was like "take your system offline," and CISA and the UK and CERT-EU were all like "take your system offline," and then the Prime Minister of Japan, the actual Prime Minister, posted at 5:55 in the morning telling 48.8 million people to take their system offline, so everyone took their system offline, like the Dutch cybersecurity agency took its own website offline, and the Dutch parliament went offline, and the Port of Rotterdam went offline, and Finland and France and Denmark started pulling government sites, and Wikipedia went down, and Archive.org went down, and Asana and GOG and Something Awful went down, and the University of Vienna's webmail went down for some reason, and that's just PHP. Because GitLab also dropped a CVSS 10.0, which is the highest score they give out, for a bug that's been there since 2014, so that's every self-hosted GitLab for twelve years, and then LiteLLM 1.107.0 got hijacked and shipped a credential stealer and a remote access trojan in every single wheel and the Docker images, including latest, and you didn't even have to import it, just installing it was enough, and it's the second time this year, and then Railway paused every deployment on the entire platform because someone got into the environment variables, so now everyone has to rotate every secret they've ever stored there, and TiDB Cloud said someone was walking around inside with stolen credentials for basically a month and an extortion group says they took 10.6 terabytes, and Zeabur got breached for the second time in two months and is just shutting down, like the whole company, and Node.js patched remote code execution and a TLS bypass, and CISA says Plex is being actively exploited, and someone took over 300 Tor exit relays to steal SSH passwords, and SafePay ransomware has hit over 600 critical infrastructure orgs, and India's biggest bank filed a data loss incident, and Japan has been in an official state of emergency in cyberspace since October 9, which honestly explains the 5:55 AM post. Oh, and eMudhra, a certificate authority that's issued over 60 million certificates, whose entire job is proving websites are who they say they are, was supposed to be using private keys that are random numbers over a hundred digits long, and one of them was 4. Just 4. And the others were like 66 and 237. Anyway, it's Wednesday.

Iranians, assemble! 🔥
From Cyrus the Great to Iran's future: ideals that need practical rails.
In partnership with Cyrus & Esther.
On Thursday, October 29, in London, we will gather to reflect on the legacy of Cyrus the Great (human dignity, justice and tolerance) and to ask how those principles can shape Iran's future, at a time when ordinary families face hard economic realities.

The programme includes expert presentations, curated multimedia, a cultural and historical presentation by Behzad Bolour, and a main panel on two questions:
• What should the future Iran look like?
• Leadership, unity and the road ahead for Iran

The experiment known as porsche web3 has now concluded.
Thank you for your participation.
Today, we are announcing the conclusion of the Porsche Web3 project and PIONΞERS CIRCLE.
What began as an exploration of new ways to connect the Porsche spirit with the digital world evolved into much more than a technology initiative. Over the past years, the PIONΞERS CIRCLE became a space for experimentation, exchange and shared discovery, bringing together a global community united by curiosity, creativity and a passion for exploring new possibilities at the intersection of innovation, culture and the Porsche brand. Through your feedback, creative contributions and shared experiences, you helped shape the journey itself, turning digital interactions into meaningful connections and unforgettable moments both online and offline, from Discord conversations to events and experiences on the racetrack.
To everyone who joined us from around the world, contributed ideas, created with us, or simply followed the journey: THANK YOU. We are incredibly grateful for the energy and commitment you brought to this shared adventure.
As this journey draws to a close, Porsche continues to evolve, adapting to new opportunities and shaping the future in its own way. We look back with appreciation on everything we explored together and the pioneering spirit that brought this community to life.
What happens next
• PORSCHΞ 911 NFTs will remain with their respective holders and continue to exist on the blockchain.
• The PIONΞERS Discord server will transition to a read-only archive, preserving the community's history and content.
• The @eth_porsche X account will no longer be actively updated.
Thank you for being part of the PIONΞERS CIRCLE.
