I’m a conservative and grew up on the show. I think many on the left are not very self-aware and don’t understand accountability and responsibility. They play victim and in their eyes are always the victims of the oppressed in all stories. They’re good at hijacking fandoms.

Maybe one of the reasons conservatives don't understand Avatar The Last Airbender is that one of the primary themes is "facing the consequences of your actions" (which is also the theme of the sequel movie just released). Modern conservatives tend to avoid accountability.

This man's creations shaped so much of my life. It feels amazing to see him get acknowledged for it. His reward and Aonuma's recent honor feels like meaningful punctuation before the remake of one of Nintendo's defining games releases. They both deserve these awards!!
