Grrrrrr!
This handmaiden to the HAMAS-Huggers gets to stay in the mayorโs chair. ๐ก๐ก๐ก
I think all her lies towards the end of the campaign swung the undecided to her ๐ก๐๐ก
As a woman in Toronto, I want a mayor who will stand up for the rights of women.
I do not want a coward who will happily don a symbol of oppression of women just to win some votes with a particular community.
Shame on you Olivia Chow!

๐จ๐ง๐ท A poll worker in Brazil says she was PROHIBITED from filming last night, after voting was extended...
"Everything went normally, and the ballot boxes were closed at 5 PM.
At 5:05 PM, the TRE coordinator announced news about Zanin's decision: the voting would be extended by another 2 hours!
General chaos. No one knew what to do. Coordination's decision: NO ONE ENTERS, NO ONE LEAVES!
I and one other voter from my section remained, who, having voted last and been witnesses to the closing of operations, just like in the 1st Round, were prevented from leaving Colรฉgio Marista Sรฃo Josรฉ, in Barra da Tijuca.
At one point, a meeting was called for all the polling officials and other voting participants, in the school's internal courtyard, to announce a decision on what would be done.
My section colleague and I approached. I started recording on video.
- Filming is Prohibited! Shouted the "authority"
- What do you mean? Why can't I record a decision that affects the voting operations I participated in as a witness? I retorted.
- Because I am prohibiting it.
- I'm civilized and won't question this personal decision of yours, even though I disagree with it.
But I'll listen and be a witness to whatever you communicate. It's my right, since I'm being prevented from leaving here. I replied.
The stunned looks and disapproval from almost everyone were noteworthy. They're not used to questioning anyone without causing a commotion.
They don't know what the word "citizenship" means.
They feel ashamed and get intimidated in front of anyone who presents themselves as an authority.
What can you do?
THE DECISION: The sections would be reopened and, for another 2 hours, voters who arrive could cast their votes in a separate minutes, to be attached to the other documents of the section!
Imagine the potential for irregularities.
Even though the ballot boxes can't be reopened, "voters" could cast their votes separately.
Who oversees that?
Between this new decision and what was implemented at my polling station, there were at least 2 people who "voted" in this mode.
We were finally released to leave the school. I don't know how many more voters managed to go vote.
All this mess opens the door to questions and even possible annulment of the vote.
Who benefits from such electoral insecurity?"

๐ญA kid with a big heart, unlike the trash we usually read about in the news.
Police arrested a 16-year-old boy for breaking into an animal shelter after midnight and cutting the locks off three kennels, until bodycam footage revealed why he did it.
When a silent alarm went off at a county animal shelter just before 2 AM, officers arrived expecting to find thieves stealing expensive veterinary equipment.
Instead, they caught a 16-year-old boy in the back hallway trying to lead three elderly dogs toward the emergency exit with a pair of bolt cutters in his backpack.
At first, the officers thought it was a reckless prank and placed the boy in the back of a patrol car. He didn't fight back or try to run, he just sat in the back seat crying and begging the officers not to put the dogs back inside. Confused by how desperate he was, one of the officers asked him what was going on.
Through tears, the teenager explained that he had been volunteering at the shelter every day after school for six months. Because the facility had run out of space, the three oldest dogsโwho had been passed over for adoption for nearly a year were scheduled to be put down at 6 AM that morning. He had begged his parents to let him take them home, and when they said they couldn't afford three dogs, he panicked and decided to break them out himself.
When the shelter manager arrived at the scene and saw the boy sitting in the cruiser still trying to comfort the dogs through the window, she couldn't bring herself to press charges. The story spread through the police department by morning, and before the shift ended, two officers and a dispatcher stepped forward to adopt all three senior dogs giving them the homes the boy had risked everything to find for them.

BREAKING UPDATE: Authorities in Billings, MT, have DECLINED to press felony charges against the student who allegedly stabbed a teacher after a nearly 10-month investigation.
Weโre told the student who stabbed a teacher is TRANSGENDER.
The school's superintendent released a statement saying he's "frustrated" that no charges were being filed.
Why are police protecting a violent trans??
BREAKING: A teacher at Billings Senior High School in Montana was STABBED by a student.
The police and school are being VERY tight-lipped about the student attacker.
Iโm told by multiple sources that it was a transgender student. A male who thinks heโs a girl. Iโm told he stabbed the teacher then stabbed himself.
Both are recovering in the hospital.
Why are police and school staff covering this up? The public has a right to be informed about dangers to their safety.
.@SD2Billings superintendent Erwin Garcia must be transparent with parents and the public about this attack.

๐จ Breaking: After a three year battle, County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust has finally changed its policy on single-sex spaces for staff to bring it in line with the law.
It is amazing how simple it is! Now all NHS Trusts must urgently follow suit.
Bethany Hutchison, President of the Darlington Nursing Union and lead claimant in the case, said:
โThis short sentence in a policy has taken women three years of fear, humiliation and extraordinary personal sacrifice to secure.
โWe were nurses asking for the most basic protection: somewhere private and safe to undress at work, away from members of the opposite sex. Instead of listening, the Trust told us to compromise, broaden our mindset and be more inclusive. We were forced out of our own changing room, placed in inadequate facilities, threatened with disciplinary action and made to fear for our jobs and professional careers.
โVulnerable colleagues were put under intolerable pressure. International nurses feared losing their visas. Women who had experienced domestic abuse were left distressed and afraid. Four of us were reported to our professional regulator simply for speaking publicly about what was happening.
โThroughout it all, the Trust defended a policy it had been warned was unlawful. Even after the Supreme Court clarified the law, it refused to change course. It took a full tribunal judgment, an apology, damages and an enormous bill before the Trust finally wrote biological reality into its policy.
โWe welcome this change because it will protect women across the Trust, but it should never have required a three-year legal battle. No nurse should ever again be treated as we were for asking for dignity, privacy and safety.โ

Thank you Toronto, and thank you to all our volunteers who believed in our campaign and gave in so many ways so we could present a message of change for our city.
Letโs keep on working to make Toronto the best city in the world.

"Who left their voting machines open past the deadline? The machines had to be closed and sealed at 5:00 p.m. sharp! I want to know which voting machines are still open โ we have to put a MAGNIFYING GLASS on those machines!"
