If "PostgreSQL" were officially named "Postgres", then Postgres would already rank as the most popular database on the DB-engines website.
However, currently, the search, content, social media posts, and questions on StackOverflow are divided between the two terms. And DB-engines counts only "PostgreSQL" towards the rank, disregarding "Postgres".
This isn't the situation with the current top three databases. There's no alternative way to search for Oracle, MySQL, or SQL Server other than using their official names. Naming truly matters...
