Here’s what I think on Max Scherzer as 1 of 2 things will likely happen
1) there’s a full season lockout and he retires
2) he comes back and signs either with the Blue Jays or the Nationals
If this Blue Jays squad was good enough to win a Team Gold Glove, then it is truly diabolical they didn’t win it in 2025, but we already knew that one
You can’t tell me there wasn’t a team in the AL that was better defensively than the Blue Jays
That was a painful campaign to watch and it doesn’t seem like an organization with that many errors should win the Gold Glove

Your Blue Jays are AL Team Gold Glove Award Winners!
For so many actively defending free speech, y’all sure are attacking and cussing me for doing the same just b/c I said “yikes” 😂😂
Also, there’s no chance they DFA Santander and eat that contract.
If he is not with Toronto next season it’ll be via a trade in the coming months
I had already been vocal about the Blue Jays entering this winter with the idea of replacing Anthony Santander and now it seems even more likely with the Blue Jays latest comments regarding his controversial post.
It’s in their best interests anyways since he’s always hurt

The NFL instituted a salary cap for the 1994 season.
Since 1993, the average NFL salary has increased 554%
In MLB — with no cap, of course — salaries have increased 396%

Raises minimum salary to $1 million in 2027.
Lowers free agency to 5 years instead of 6 years.
I’ve said this for the last month, but I strongly believe Myles Straw will be coming back to Toronto; it will just be for less money than what his option was.
Straw is such a huge part of that clubhouse in every way that a coach would want, especially from a role player

This could be something for later in the offseason, but I'd expect Myles Straw to remain an option for the #BlueJays if there's a role.
Straw has strong feelings about the organization and I haven't been around many players who were as well-liked by their teammates and coaches.
One of the least shocking things we’ve seen; Louis Varland has been named as a finalist for AL Reliever of the Year and Dylan Cease a finalist for the AL Cy Young
