I was finally able to get a sealed FireTV cube gen 2 which allowed me to install CoreElec (Kodi) on to it as a dual boot OS target. This is replacing my Nvidia Shield 2017 which served me well.
The new setup allows for both of these things at the same time now:
▶️ Dynamic HDR
▶️ Spatial Surround HD Audio Passthrough
Inspired by VVterm from @wiedymi I made a serial console based on libghostty

FFmpeg's native AAC encoder has just been rewritten, and now beats both fdkaac and qAAC according to current metrics and listening tests.
This is not a small change. @X and @OBSProject use it, as well as many others. It's been a critical piece of the internet, and is now the best
With the help of @chaospott #repaircafe we got my Switch Pro Controllers working again. Brought some TMR Hall Effect Joysticks and now I can say I know how to desolder

Turns out it has a bug that causes silent data corruption on modern systems and it got a patch in the upstream mailing list worth checking out. I just patched the Armbian Rockchip Kernel so that side is taken care of
Nice, while I don’t really like snap packages it should make it easier to get it running for many.
They explicitly mention the Orion O6 / O6N as validated too

Is Nvidia finally going to reveal N1X? 🤔
I've been tracking this project since at least early 2025 when some Geekbench scores leaked and now they’re teasing a new era of PC at Computex 2026

Really enjoyed reading this
Not only is it a great insight on how agentic coding supports skilled programmers but it is also a very technical writeup while also being easy to follow.
Looking forward to more articles from a project I’ve been using and recommending for years now

Shoutout to @VennStone for going through the weeds to get Steam Arm64 + Proton 11 Arm64 running. Saved me probably hours of troubleshooting for this new project I'm working on.
And WOW this runs smooth. Like once it’s running with DXVK you can actually game on it. Plugged in my Xbox Controller and it just works
