i really want to post my ideas for fighting game rival interactions for nazo and ultra sonic with other characters guys should i do it
most of the time, nah. sonic is something very special and most of who i talk to understands that
but every once on a while, some snotty motherfucker will be like “you like sonic?? like chris chan??🤣🤣u know chris chan???🤣” and i wanna hit them with a pillow case of soap bars
oh my god that was incredible
Sonic: The Wrath of Nazo premieres at 7:30pn EST, showing act 3 for the first time! It's mostly storyboards with some special cleaned up drawings but if you're interested, set aside about an hour. I'll be watching and throwing out commentary in chat! youtube.com/watch?v=IQ4vusdm…

A couple of weeks ago I tried doing anime compositing on Davinci Resolve, and now I tried to apply it to an actual animation (with Sonic of course)
Background from "Is the order a rabbit? BLOOM", I just looked for one cause I didn't want to paint it myself lol

SEGA would burn down an orphanage of puppies and then poison the water supply before making a Sonic anime in this style

Watching this made me remember that during the 2000s-early 2010s fandom, a lot of people assumed that smaller/spin-off games weren't canon.
That's in stark contrast to how much emphasis canon is placed on nowadays in Sonic, both by some of the fandom and by the lore team.

Some people have had the audacity to say X Sonic is boring, has no screentime, when it's further from the truth.
But one thing X Sonic did so well, is how they handled Sonic at moments like this. Realise how Sonic doesn't give a speech that basically describes himself 1:1 like it's ripped from Wikipedia?
Everything about his character is told through his actions, his little replies, his expression, his exchange with Dark Oak, and the ambience of the landscape. Even when Dark Oak believes his struggle to fight is inevitable, Sonic also encourages Dark Oak to 'keep going and fighting', despite them being enemies. This contrasts so hard with IDW, which make him a mouthy character that desperately wants to bring others to his side.
X Sonic translated/interpretated the Sonic IP better than every any other Sonic media, and imo its writing eclipsed many official Sonic games too.
