We created an AR storytelling experience - interactive and uses full body tracking. Watch video till the end 😉 A gloomy, rainy cloud tracks you. Play music with a clap. Use hand gestures to raise the sun or bring it down. #ar #arkit #unity #arcore #learning #storytelling

AI can never replace teachers, because AI reads data, but teachers read students.

In the brain, some neurons adapt easily, while others remain resistant to change. This can be likened to our beliefs, where certain deeply ingrained convictions, like the historical belief that the sun revolves around the earth, required substantial evidence and effort to alter. Similarly, in machine learning, we could enhance efficiency by incorporating a "resistance to change" factor for each neuron during training. This factor would determine how readily a neuron or set of neurons can adapt or how firmly they maintain their learned patterns (or weights). By drawing on the concept that some brain regions or neuron patterns encode hard-set beliefs through repeated reinforcement, we can apply this principle to improve the adaptability and stability of artificial neural networks. This could be a pathway for the Alignment Problem. PS: Dropout is a somewhat overlapping, but a completely different concept, introduced for a different need.

Kids ❤️ Games Games ❌ Learning Kids 🙅 Learning What if Learning 🤗 Games? Then, Kids ❤️ Learning! QED. #learning #edtech #games #indiedev #math #iteachmath (From one of our game-based learning sessions at NotABot)

Reach out to [email protected] if you'd love to collaborate on translating a learning topic you teach (or learn) into a fun game that does the job!

This is why we do this stuff! This is what we love about what we do. Making games and immersive experiences to help you bring joy in your students' learning. #learning #Math #AugmentedReality #indiedev

John used the game (equations.notabot.ai) in his class of 200+ students, publishing exercises to solve using the game, running workshops with students in a physical classroom competing in the game with a live leaderboard, and in so many other fun ways.

A playground for learning, just a game to play, instead of a harsh testing environment that punishes mistakes, goes a long way to bring students into the fold, and keep their love for the subject alive.

This blew our mind, and told us we're on the right path on our mission to bringing joy to learning by methodically augmenting learning concepts with games and experiences that provide such a safe space.

Another benefit we uncovered as the students in his math class played the game, was how confidently students were able to work on equations, simply because games provide a safe space to make mistakes and recover, instead of feeling frozen with fear of making a mistake on paper!

Then we sat down together, and made a game about it! In the Equations game (equations.notabot.ai), you "port" terms from one side to another, with a changed sign, as a game mechanic that fits naturally in the game world. This makes the concept click for a student right away.

Out of the two ways to think about this solution, he distinctly saw in his own introductory math class, that using (2), visualizing "moving a variable to the other side", suddenly clicked the concept into place in the student's mind.

Here's the problem statement: To solve the simple equation (x - a = b), there are 2 ways that you can solve it: 1.Add "a" to both sides, (x - a + a = b + a), leading to (x = a + b) 2.Or, visualize moving "a" to the other side, changing its sign from "-" to "+"

PLAY = MATH = PLAY John Bamberg, a mathematician from University of Western Australia, saw a gap in how solving linear equations is taught in many classrooms today, and reached out to us to check if we could help him fix that! #STEM #iteachmath #gamedevelopment #indiedev

"Learning is not the product of teaching. Learning is the product of the activity of learners." — John Holt Completely non-obvious but totally true.

The "nurture, not preserve" approach. It's what works. #edchat
