The dumb “mail voting made Oregon blue” take ignores how many statewide Rs since the 50s would be *entirely* unwelcome in today’s GOP. Atiyeh, Frohnmayer, McCall, Hatfield, Packwood, Paulus, Myers, Morse, McNary. RINOs all. It’s not the voting mechanism, it’s where the party went
Replying to @WallStreetApes
Nothing suspicious at all.

Portland catching strays in IA-02!
My opponent grew up in Portland, Oregon. She lived in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Massachusetts before moving to Iowa ten years ago. She immediately ran for office, skipped over 50% of votes in the legislature, and voted to give illegals state-funded benefits and sex changes for minors when she did show up. We don't judge her for not being from here. We judge her trying to bring her Portland, Oregon values to Iowa.

This is actually a condescending view of working-class people. I grew up in a working-class immigrant family and we ate at Red Lobster and The Cheesecake Factory for "fancy nights out." But even we understood that the White House should not look like the inside of a Red Lobster. Working-class people are not culturally illiterate just because their experiences are shaped by their limited means.
Does Obama not understand that to most Americans the Cheesecake Factory is a very nice and fancy restaurant?

I feel like, whatever your opinion on the larger issue, we should all be able to agree that skulking around trying to film non-consenting children to make a political point is creepy and gross.
🚨🚨UNREAL: Last night at the Woodland High School vs El Camino High School girls’ varsity volleyball game, the principal approached me to warm me that I was not allowed to film any “minors” unless I was related to the player. Why are they trying to hide the trans-identified boy? Girls’ sports are for girls only. Break the spell!!

Ok but this incident happened two years ago.
How about we vote in person?

Yes a single-digit number of freshman House members from lefty NY and Michigan districts will definitely usher in the coming revolution. DSA Derangement Syndrome is a helluva drug.
The past few days, I got my hands on thousands of new transcripts and hundreds of recordings, thanks to leads from @SKDoubleDub33 and @iamlisalogan . You've heard that the DSA is proposing structural reforms to America, including abolishing the Senate and imposing term limits. What you not have heard is - there is an operational plan to put it all into action. If the Democratic Party sweeps 2026, then DSA will become "foot soldiers" in constant clashes with the administration to cross a "red line" or invoke a "doomsday scenario" - meaning, President Trump invokes the Insurrection Act, probably sometime in 2027. Then, a lot of coordinated responses kick off, including delegitimizing the federal government itself and handing that legitimacy to Democratic governors. 2028 then becomes a vote on whether to keep America governance as-is or to burn it all down to appease a "young and brown" demographic. The mysterious group who's been coordinating 50501, Indivisible, and coordinating the NoKings protests is called "United Democracy Alliance" and their intellectual leader is Erica Chenoweth who came up with the 3.5% rule of nonviolent regime change. Patience. I know I've hyped this more than anything else. It's genuinely the biggest discovery I've had. This is an enormous archive. This is only the beginning.

“Hi, Bill Kristol here … very pleased to be joined by my friend James Carville” is a sentence that 1993 me did NOT see coming. Thx @BulwarkOnline 😬

Conservative media doing its part to keep the bubble intact by neglecting to mention this same voter later went on for a solid minute about how much Talarico impressed her
Stunning moment as a Texas Christian voter rebukes Talarico’s false claim that the Bible is “silent on abortion.”
81
Funny thing is, the Southern Baptist Convention — McCain’s denomination!— basically agreed with Talarico until the late ‘70s — years after Roe
I don’t know why Talarico keeps saying the bible is ambiguous on abortion. It is the most woke, asinine, illogical talking point and he continues to sound like an asshole when he repeats it.

Such a hard no I'm not sure where to start. How about: the capital DA who told me, "We can't trust the gov't to keep the roads paved. We're going to trust them to kill people?" How about, you create a spectacle, you cannot control who's attracted to the spectacle? Very very dark
Hegseth says a soldier firing squad will publicly execute Fort Hood mass shooter at site of killings trib.al/OZG2BRM

Yes let’s all head down to the Place de la Révolution to cheer for the latest strokes of the National Razor. Very healthy. Mon dieu do they not teach history anymore?
I philosophically oppose the death penalty. But, given that it exists, and if we're going to do it, I'm not exactly sure what's so bad about doing it via firing squad or in public view. I get the objection to it being a spectacle... but also, if we're, as a society, going to literally kill someone, why shouldn't we be forced to observe what we are doing rather than look away and have it handled behind closed doors? I dunno, I'm still thinking through this.

“Journalists” slagging this hero are nuts. He bought his local paper at 25 because he thinks it’s boring? I spent time doing local journalism just today. Some of it was boring! Sometimes Excel is on its bullshit. If you haven’t been bored doing this job you probably suck at it.

You’d think someone with “data” in their username would understand that every one of these 2024 final wave polling margin “misses” was within the margin of error but here we are
New York Times polls were trash before. Still are trash.

All this drama because people who signed up to work as government employees thought it would be clever not to admit it, got mad when people found out anyway, and then were deeply offended that other people drew conclusions from their unwillingness to disclose it.
