I've come to believe that it's a lack of self-reflection, not being conniving or manipulative, that makes someone a bad person.
Everyone engages in occasional behavior that is harmful. A "good person" takes that feedback to heart, takes responsibility for their actions, and tries to do better next time. A "bad person" pushes the thought away and refuses to reflect on their behavior.
Over time, doing that repeatedly - refusing to be morally accountable - is what makes someone a bad person. It doesn't mean they don't have the capacity for redemption, but it's impossible to collaborate with people who refuse to learn from iterated moral games.

we shipped a new type of model: an extraction model!
pass it unstructured data, and get a list of the details and probability back. try it out and let us know what you think!

Cloud Coffee: "Durable Objects"
Happening now at SOHN, San Francisco. Come say hi!
.@rough__sea is joining @Cloudflare
I, along with the rest of the Deno company, am joining Cloudflare!
I'm motivated by abstractions that give leverage at scale. The Cloudflare workers programming model is a hermetic computing abstraction that truly embodies the old Sun Microsystems tagline "The Network Is the Computer". The programming abstractions that Kenton designed really force scalability. If you squint your eyes you might even conceive of it as a distributed high-level operating system.
The only major problem with this distributed operating system is that practically people only use it inside of Cloudflare. Cloudflare is an amazing service for nearly all applications - but there are many situations when you might need it to run elsewhere.
I want to solve this problem and make the Workers programming model the default way you write server-side application code.
The time is ripe for new abstractions too - what software we run and how we run it are changing quickly with AI. The number of agents is exploding and I don't think they all need a Linux VM. A much more lightweight Durable Object would suffice for many applications. I'm super keen to talk to people who want to self-host agents at scale on DOs - msg me!
durable objects are the foundation for agentic workloads
strongly consistent storage + guaranteed single instance + serverless compute

🧡 @Cloudflare offices tonight listening to @mgamache, @RuntypeLabs, and @stripe @StripeDev Projects talk about how you can make your companies more agent-friendly.
Did you know 70% of web traffic is now via agents? And, as shown, they don't care about pop-ups, cookies, or captchas... – at San Francisco, CA

long-running agents x durable objects
a new small but important detail - now all types of pending outbound I/O keep durable objects active (rpc/fetch/containers/tcp/ws/etc.)
letting your agent keep running, even with no client connected
while ensuring you can't footgun yourself and cause ∞ wall time by accidentally leaving a connection open

we have this crazy key-value store at Cloudflare called Quicksilver
instantly updates keys across our whole network. microsecond reads from every location. stupid fast
our customers have asked us for years to make it available
we finally did – in a way we think is quite simple - as a new mode for Workers KV

📣 cloudflare K2 is here and is in open beta! k2 lets you send events to a K2 stream, which stores them as an ordered log.
K2 implements a partitioned, durable log on top of R2 object storage (read: built to scaaaale!)

excited to announce that @Cloudflare Artifacts is now in open beta!
with Artifacts, you can give every application and agent its own repo that you can manage programmatically
plus you can use it to store and deploy your Workers code (and ofc it integrates with Workers Previews)
Ingest, catalog, query with instant set up and usage-based pricing.
Thrilled to share that our serverless data analytics platform, Basin, is now GA.
During Birthday Week 2025, we announced the Cloudflare Data Platform, a suite of products that ingest, store, and query your analytical data. Today, we’re announcing that the platform is generally available, and we’re giving it a new name: Cloudflare Basin. cfl.re/4yv3mz6 #BirthdayWeek
