Every time I talk to @breeves08 and @velvetatom, I realize that they are the best in the business and we have to get them maximally involved.
They have been amazing partners since the seed, and we could not be more excited to have them colead the Series A.
Thanks to the whole @Lux_Capital team and so psyched for what's to come!
Every so often, you meet a team that changes your expectations of what’s possible. Ben, Asher, Aidan, and the team at @flappyairplanes are exactly that.
They have brought together a very special group of people (with an average age of 24!) to go after one of the most important challenges in AI: reimagining how machines learn and how we unlock the full potential of our compute.
Proud to partner with this exceptional team as they fundamentally change how intelligence gets built.

Text DoorDash proactively places your burrito order
Said burrito is delivered to you via drone
AGI.
Congrats to @AayushSheth8 @KakanuruSathvik and the entire team for the launch and all the epic work put into this. A certain banger.
You can now just text DoorDash and let it order for you. It’s proactive, learns from your repeat orders, and helps you find the best deals and new spots.
Just tell it what you want without any extra setup. Ask it to reorder your usual, or add it to a group text to collect everyone’s orders. You can even send a photo of your fridge and it’ll tell you what ingredients you’re missing for a recipe you want to make and deliver the ingredients to your doorstep.
We believe agents are a new app paradigm and are building for that future at @AIatDoorDash, with a lot more to come. This feature is in beta in the US, would love for you to let us know what you think! Waitlist: doordash.com/text

We're proud to announce a new, over-subscribed $50M fund.
Fourteen years ago, betting on students sounded a little crazy. We never thought so, and we’re still at it.
Thank you @eringriffith for telling our story in today’s @nytimes.

Thrilled to welcome @miakrishh to the @Lux_Capital team!
She's built trust with some of the best builders in the industry and she's just getting started -- excited to have her onboard ⚡️🚀
I’ve joined @Lux_Capital. I'll continue investing in the brightest and boldest founders across AI apps, infra, and the physical world. Lux is an amazing firm built by an incredible group of people, and I can’t wait to share that magic with more founders.
To the folks at CRV, who took a chance on me early, thank you. You taught me the craft and backed me every step of the way. I am deeply grateful to the founders who have let me be a small part of their stories to date.
If you're building something ambitious, I'd love to hear from you!

I dropped out of high school at 17 to build my first startup.
Now, at 20, I'm thrilled to share that @TryOmenAI has raised $41.5M in total funding to build intelligence protecting the world's most critical AI compute infrastructure.

Super excited to be hosting our first Built Different event this Friday 5/8 in SF!
We're bringing together founders and executives to talk through the topic on everyone's mind - what does it mean to build an AI-native company?
We have a few spots left to learn from @helloitsaustin @chintanturakhia @mabrahamsen and more!

seeking AI Engineers. not just any AI engineer, one who:
- turns model output from slop to *chef's kiss *
- obsesses over evals and data quality
- hates purple gradients
- loves creativity
- geeks out on harnesses and test scaffolding
- believes memory is the great lock-up in AI
- enjoys context & search problems
we're hiring for multiple roles. some will work on search, indexing, and embeddings, crawling, scraping, extracting. others on judges, verifiers, and classifiers. others on data pipelines. others on research. all will touch the hard problems of design and creativity.
all need to believe in the mission of ending AI slop.
based in SF! DM to apply.

BTW, DoorDash's acquisition price for Metis was $150M, all cash.
Metis only has ~10 employees, and did not raise institutional capital after the YC S25 program afaik.
Incredible outcome for a ~1 year old company, congrats!
Today we are welcoming the Metis team to DoorDash as part of DoorDash AI Research.
For the past six months, DoorDash has partnered with Metis to build AI agents together, and we have been consistently impressed by their team. By joining forces, we aim to accelerate our plans on building agentic commerce and pushing the frontier of physical intelligence. Excited to share more there soon.
It’s still early innings with how AI will transform local commerce, and we’re looking forward to exploring those possibilities together with Aryan, Aayush, Marcus and the Metis team!

Just over six months ago, we led the seed round for @withmetisai. As we spent time with @aryanxshah, Aayush, and Marcus getting the company off the ground, it was clear that they were a team that we had to be in business with. It's no surprise that the folks at DoorDash felt the same way, first as a significant early customer and now as they announce the acquisition of Metis.
Huge congrats to the team, thrilled to have been part of the journey @CRV! @miakrishh @reidRMC
