Srebrenica - defining moment of my generation. Remembering the 1995 Genocide in Srebrenica means confronting human rights violations in Gaza, Sudan and other places and fighting hate speech & discrimination. Memory is not vengeance - it is the foundation for justice and peace.

We need to get serious, or we'll be paying for this war for years to come. Civilians across Middle East and beyond have already paid too high a price.

My interview with @amanpour in London yesterday.
“Diplomacy is not reality TV. The world is not a casino. Statecraft is not a real estate deal.” @UNReliefChief @TFletcher tells me that as the war with Iran continues to escalate, “We’ll be paying for this war for years to come… “We’re deeply frustrated… that’s diplomatic speak for saying we’re furious. Because rich people are winning out of this. The arms dealers are winning… And the people I serve are losing.”

In recent weeks, millions have been displaced by storms and floods in Thailand, Malaysia, Viet Nam and the Philippines. And more heartbreaking news has continued from Indonesia and Sri Lanka, where lives have been lost, and the essential services children rely on have been destroyed. Children are among the most vulnerable when a crisis hits, facing risks to their health, safety and education. UNICEF is working with partners across the world to ensure children are protected before, during and after a crisis.

“I kept breastfeeding, but with limited food and only relying on relief supplies, I couldn’t have enough milk for her,” Hương recalled after being isolated for days by the typhoon. Her one-year-old daughter was diagnosed with moderate acute malnutrition (MAM) and has since received ready-to-use therapeutic food (RUTF) supported by UNICEF and government partners — helping her recover and grow healthy again. #EmergencyResponse
