State Sen. Veronica Klinefelt (D-Eastpointe), who chairs the Senate Transportation Appropriations Subcommittee, is exploring a road user charge—commonly called pay-per-mile—as a replacement for the state gas tax. The move comes as transportation revenue declines due to increasingly fuel-efficient vehicles and the growing prevalence of electric cars, which generate little to no gas tax revenue.

Over 700,000 Michiganders signed up to secure our elections, require photo ID, and ensure only U.S. citizens vote.
After being blocked once, two new paths have developed:
• SCOTUS: Justice Kavanaugh has ordered state election officials to provide a better answer for blocking the amendment from the ballot.
• The House: As vice chair of our new select committee, I am demanding answers from the Bureau of Elections and Board of Canvassers as to how this review actually went down.
Because this many voices SHOULD NOT be so easy to silence.
This campaign has been one of the greatest honors of my life. To everyone who prayed, volunteered, donated, and placed your trust in me, thank you. We ran a race rooted in faith, family, and conservative values, and I'm proud of what we accomplished together.
Above all, I trust in God's plan. We don't always receive the answer we hope for, but we can always trust His will and give Him the glory.
