Amazon’s holiday fulfillment fees kicked in Oct 15 and run through Jan 14, adding an average of $0.32 per unit over non-peak rates. The existing 3.5% fuel and logistics surcharge applies on top.
And then discounts, and then higher ad costs...

Since April 10th, Amazon has raised our FBA fees over 22K a month. This is due to a fuel surcharge of 3.5% and Amazon trying to charge higher fees during "peak" which Amazon has decided starts on Oct 15th which is BS. Product costs are at all time highs and Amazon is raising..
our fees more than 14% while trying to force us to offer them the best prices. Seller's should be more aware of their numbers instead of trusting Amazon when they say "don't worry, fees are only going up 8 cents on avg!" lol. I failed Algebra TWICE so if I can do this math...

Even more reason to diversify off Amazon. They will look back at 2026 and realize this is when they lost their way as they threw sellers under the bus again and again and again and again.
FYI for FBM sellers: Amazon says that starting December 18, 2026, most US returns for seller-fulfilled orders will require a prepaid return label.
Within seven calendar days of a return request, sellers must upload the label through Manage Seller-Fulfilled Returns or issue a full refund without requiring the item back. If neither happens, Amazon says it may automatically issue a returnless refund and deduct the amount from the seller’s account.
Heavy and bulky items are temporarily excluded. Labels sent outside Amazon’s returns workflow won’t count.

I have a product I "wholesale" to USPS. POs are 7K each and had 4 so far this year. Best part is they don't even ask for a discount. I've had big orders over the years to Schools, Cops, Govt offices, Charities and I have never had a single one ask for a cheaper price. lol.
