For me , picking business banks this is the kind of thing that would make you never in the world consider slash because they are petty and unprofessional and immature and those not good adjectives for… a bank Actually good on silka to call them out
didn’t know this was @slashapp’s new sales strategy but pretty sure this is how you lose customers and ruin your reputation

not only am i not worried about the crypto community's ability to handle the upcoming ai/quantum threat, i will venture to say that in the next 2 yrs the world will realize crypto is far better prepared for it than the rest of the internet and finance. we've had a trillion dollar *irreversible* honey pot for a decade, producing a far more battletested system and adversarial security culture than pretty much anywhere else on earth.

The pro office people can easily articulate the remote benefits since it provides lifestyle benefits to the individual The pro wfh people are generally unable to articulate the benefits from the management perspective, or the team and company side effects Will continue to be divisive
My strongest “vibes not evidence” belief is that remote work is a cancer that’s making (most) people miserable even though it seems better in the short term.
23
Another correct take
i was pro remote work until i saw how some people behave when you trust them to work remote. now i believe only maybe 5% of people can be trusted to work remote. i am in this 5% of course
23
This is so obviously true to any manager and owner and most people just don’t want to acknowledge it
Asking to work remote is a huge imposition. As soon as one member of your team is remote the dynamic has shifted and you become less cohesive. A great many problems that exist over chat and phone disappear when everyone is in one room with desks in shouting distance.

you have to sign up for muse. instinct changes everything. i literally handed my whole life off to town. you're seriously doing that instead of letting hermes handle it? i named my Manus agent greg. i exclusively talk to my wife via hermes. my Claude is literally chatting with the DMV right now via a voice agent. i couldn't live without my fleeb agent. you need to put fleeb on that. go sign up for fleeb. i have 10 invite codees to hand out for fleeb. fleeb is raising at a $100b valuation. fleeb is pivoting. fleeb has shut own, and we are migrating all users to flobe

I cannot reconcile Dario and Anthropic saying AI might kill us all with him being in the Dreamforce Keynote These are not serious people

The @Jason and @DavidSacks posts I think are right here. Impossible to view labs position on AI risk separate from their business position and trillion $ valuations and IPO hopes. And clearly cyber risk is growing. But didn’t Dario predict all the tech jobs and that isn’t happening at all? So maybe dario has a ton of info, and is still wrong. They have super AI and their comms strategy is still terrible!
All the regulations being floated by frontier model companies must be viewed through the lens of them losing tokens to Open-Source models. The timing of these regulations seems to line up perfectly with Open Source closing the gap significantly (but not completely) — and @nvidia going all in on open source in the last 60 days. If we’re gonna regulate, why don’t we require that last year’s frontier models and weights be open-sourced?

This is a very good response post to the Dario’s post. Dario and Sam are supposedly running their companies, couldn’t they stop? If they are so dangerous. Just stop then. The x ai bubble does not understand the slow diffusion of the latest tech into the real world.
Dario has written that we need to “pace the frontier,” and Sam has agreed. People may be surprised by my response: go ahead. You guys are the frontier. By any reasonable metric — market share, revenue growth, model capability — the two of you have a duopoly on frontier intelligence. You’ve also claimed the lead is widening because of recursive self-improvement. I don’t see what you see in the lab. If the unreleased models are scary enough that you think you should slow down, I support your decision to be responsible. But stop pretending you need anyone else’s permission. Stop pretending antitrust law has to be suspended so you can form a cartel. Stop pretending you need a regulatory approval process that supersedes product liability. Stop pretending METR is independent when it is intertwined with Anthropic’s investors and staff. Stop pretending you need those same evaluators to police competitors who aren’t even at the frontier. Most of all, stop pretending the motivation to slow down is purely altruistic. You face massive product-liability exposure if your products enable a truly damaging cyberattack. The market already punishes models that behave in unpredictable or unauthorized ways. After the Hugging Face episode, it is simply good business for OpenAI and Anthropic to trade some raw power for reliability and predictability. Call it alignment if you want. It is also just giving customers what they want. Pacing the frontier would also create breathing room for a more intelligent conversation about regulation than Bernie Sanders’ “shut it all down.” China is very unlikely to join a global agreement, as you know, and that has to be taken into account as well. So go ahead and pace the frontier. You are the ones setting it. The easiest way not to build superintelligence is for you to agree not to build it. Demanding your preferred regulatory framework as the price of that will look like blackmail of the public and the political system. So just do it. If you do, you’ll buy goodwill for the next conversation. If you don’t, we’ll know this was just another bid for regulatory capture — or an election-season psyop.

The people closest to AI are making all of the same mistakes as the public health professionals who were closest to COVID. Taking a real risk and exaggerating it by orders of magnitude to, in part, justify the importance of their role as the people designated to stop it. Likewise, their hysterics and lack of proportion might ruin the reputation of their field for a long time.
Jacob is correct here—we really do earnestly believe AI could kill all humans! I personally think it is >10% within the next decade. I believe Anthropic is trying its best, but we do not yet have a plan to solve alignment for superintelligence and are not clearly on track to.

Wait so nfts can make a comeback here? That is clearly the end state of reservations booked by AI agents and removing the middle man…
Restaurants pay Resy (+ platforms like it) because there is friction in matching people to tables When every consumer and business has an agent that understands preferences and can act on them, does Resy exist? SMBs pay many “taxes” like this that agents could eliminate

“Tokens are not a proxy for revenue nor value created” lol then why do you guys charge everyone …. By token
I've enjoyed working with Cursor pre-acquisition and have respect for the team and what they have built. The 5% here should have come with strong caveat and I would love for Michael to share the math. Tokens are not a proxy for revenue nor value created and the OpenAI models are on the very frontier of token efficiency. Smaller or less strong models require many more tokens to achieve a task and therefore will inflate traffic share significantly.

This is exactly what annoys me about Claude Code You're treated like a child getting lootboxes just to be able to do your work while you pay massive amounts of money for extra usage tokens

This is a revealing exchange -- the DSA simply will not acknowledge that left-wing dictatorships are not democracies.
🚨 DSA Co-Chairs Squirm When Pressed on Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua This is a longer clip, but it captures the best parts of a broader discussion DSA national co-chairs Ashik Siddique and Megan Romer had with The Moment hosts Jorge Ramos and Paola Ramos. Jorge repeatedly presses them on whether Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua are dictatorships. They repeatedly avoid giving him a direct answer. Romer eventually responds that “Cubans have access to their democracy in a way that we do not,” pointing to Cuba’s 2022 Family Code referendum as evidence. That referendum was only four years ago, making it an especially curious answer to Jorge Ramos repeatedly pressing her on decades without multiparty elections. Ashik Siddique fares little better. Asked whether Cuba is a dictatorship, he pivots to the U.S. embargo and the state of American politics, responding that “it’s hard for us to judge other countries being dictatorships when we have Donald Trump as president.” Paola eventually steps in and identifies the problem at hand. DSA can be anti-imperialist without becoming apologists for these regimes. They should still be able to recognize and explain what makes them authoritarian. When it comes to international politics, DSA is often at its most revealing. Siddique and Romer are not even among the organization’s most die-hard internationalists. This is really just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to how radical DSA’s international politics can get.

On the right you have crazy MAGA. On the left you have crazy DSA. About a third of republicans are crazy maga and third of Democrats crazy dsa. Basically it leaves 2/3 of the country not that and these are the people you will get to vote for

Don’t be surprised that Mamdani—a man for whom a Judenrein Middle East is his political lodestar—also wants a Judenrein NYC. About 45% of NYC lawyers are Jewish. The odds of selecting 18 NYC lawyers at random and ending up with a panel containing no Jews are 0.55 to the 18th power—or roughly one chance in 47,149. And it’s not about “Zionism.” There are plenty of anti-Zionist Jewish lawyers he could have picked, including thousands who, to their shame, voted for him. It’s about Jews. He hates Jews. It's not complex.

There are a lot of people making fun of mamdani grocery stores. Every bit of that is deserved It is just a bad bad terrible policy idea Even if you have the intent of giving poorer people food there are a hundred better ways to do that
