Trial lawyers also hate that AVs have cameras and sensors. No ambiguity means no arguments means eventually no need to hire someone to fight over the story. Which means the end of contingency.

This practice is unethical and likely rare. The real scandal is that almost every pre-suit personal injury firm is now using AI to automate the vast majority of the labor while still charging a legacy 33-40% fee. They’ve collapsed their own costs, charge the same, and consumers see no benefit. @mighty exists to change this dynamic.

P&C insurers combined spend millions every year investigating exactly who’s injured in accidents and then rush to get them to accept a fast settlements before they realize what their case is truly worth. Guess you gotta spend millions to save billions.

@mighty succeeding must also mean that the general population understands gross vs. net.
In #personalinjury there's a big difference between gross settlement (i.e. the # on billboards) and net settlement (i.e. the # client's get.) I explain in this video: youtube.com/watch?v=cqMw-h-W…

Personal injury firms spend fortune in acquisition costs for clients they only see once, this only makes sense if they're making a lot of money off of clients w/ strong cases & providing terrible, opaque service to everyone else: interested to see how transparent competitor does.
1/ @forthepeople’s ad campaign “Our fee is free unless we win your case!” that uses ads that liken their legal fees to free samples, free delivery, & other “free” things, is one of the most cunning in #personalinjury and they should take it down 🧵

Cars kill over 1.3 million people every year, and we somehow accept this as the cost of doing business. If airplanes killed 1.3M people a year, we would ground all airplanes until we figure out what went wrong. So why do we accept such horrifying outcomes with cars?
