Pat Buchanan, 1999:
“By moving NATO onto Russia’s front porch, we have scheduled a twenty-first century confrontation. … America will face a hellish dilemma: risk confrontation with a nuclear-armed Russia determined to recreate its old sphere of influence, or renege on solemn commitments and see NATO collapse.”
Therefore, he said, “Offering NATO memberships to Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and, as some urge, Ukraine is rashness bordering on madness.” Referring to maps the Clinton team must have ignored, Buchanan warned, “This would put the Russian base at Kaliningrad behind NATO lines and bring into a U.S.-led alliance three nations with huge Russian minorities.” Foreseeing future conflict, he observed that “Latvia is almost half Russian; eastern Ukraine, almost entirely Russian. America could neither defend nor liberate these nations without the risk of nuclear war.”

Clint Russell: This generation is f*cked.
A blunt assessment from the @LibertyLockPod host, Clint Russell, who joins me to discuss:
• Why younger Americans feel priced out of the American dream
• Capitalism vs. corporatism and who benefits from inflation
• Housing, Bitcoin, gold, and his warning about the next financial downturn
• Epstein and broken promises of transparency
• The influencers he accuses of defending Trump for a paycheck
• Foreign wars and the growing divide between MAGA and America First
• The midterms and who could lead America First in 2028
A MUST-SEE conversation with Clint Russell and @BrandonStraka on @TheBStrakaShow.

Mendacity-prone under-the-influencer Matt Tardio previously claimed Iran bombed itself when the US massacred 138 students at the girls' school in Minab
So it's not a surprise to see him lying again to sell another imperial war
This obviously bogus, bizarrely constructed graph acknowledges my before week data relied on artificial backfill
I'm not even sure which "views" the graph is counting, but The Grayzone's YouTube analytics shows our views were higher during the period of Ukrainian attacks on Russian data centers than during the same period a month prior. In the 24 hours since the last attack on a Russian data center, our YouTube views increased noticeably.
My appearance on Judging Freedom, which took place hours before the first Ukrainian attack, has racked up a combined 175,000 views on that YouTube channel and The Grayzone.
Tardio is pushing another graph claiming Tucker Carlson's "views" are way down. However, Tucker's engagement has increased since October 8, with his six posts averaging over 1 million views each on Twitter/X alone.
The entire narrative about Ukrainian attacks neutralizing Russian "bots" is, of course, a shameless hoax which deliberately confused automated Yandex web crawlers with coordinated inauthentic activity. It has relied almost entirely on phony graphics pushed by deranged propagandists selling a Tardio narrative.

Israel’s New – and Terrifying – Security Doctrine

If you read one thing today, make sure it is this:
In a stunning piece published by the head of one of Israel’s most prominent think tanks, Maj. Gen. Tamir Hayman describes the reality of Israel’s new security doctrine:
A few crucial principles he describes:
1. The United States is a “declining power” and, given its ongoing social and political shifts, will soon abandon Israel in any event. This is compelling Israel to move toward greater self-reliance in order to avoid “excessive dependence” on the US since it “exposes Israel to the influence of a progressive American value system that is incompatible with Israel’s Jewish character.”
Then he concludes: “Severing ties with the United States is therefore not only inevitable, but essential to Israel’s independence and the resilience of its Jewish national identity.”
2. Primacy of Jewish Identity over Democracy: The state’s Jewish identity takes precedence over its democratic system of government.
3. Peace as a Means Rather Than an End: “A meaningful peace agreement is unattainable in the Middle East, as peace agreements are merely technical and temporary arrangements requiring constant reassessment. According to this view, peace is not an intrinsic value that generates security, but a means of achieving other policy objectives.”
4. “Rejection of the Independent Existence of Arab States: The underlying premise is that most Arab states are not genuine nation-states, but collections of tribes and ethnic groups lacking a shared history and a foundational national vision. Consequently, undermining their stability is viewed as a natural process, one that Israel can manage more effectively than it can contend with strong nation-states, and one that it should even encourage.”
5. “War as a Foundational State: War is essential to national security and cannot be replaced by a state of peace, which, as noted, is merely a means rather than an end…. War is necessary, and preventive war is preferable because it secures a significant achievement at the outset.”
6. “Absolute Priority for Initiative and Offense over Defense: Preemptive, surprise strikes are viewed as the only way to achieve victory, giving offense precedence over defense.”
And there’s more.
Important to note that Hayman does not advocate for this. Rather, he contends that this already is the new security doctrine of Israel.
He is describing reality as he sees it. And that reality simply is not compatible with a US or Western alliance with Israel – unless the West transforms into a similar entity that treats war as a permanent and desirable state of being.

Saying free market capitalism is like saying cis gendered man.
The first part is unnecessary because there is no other kind.
The Free Market or capitalism means without government intervention. At all.

Want to know where Marxism has really swept the board? In the study of Reconstruction, a crucial period of U.S. history.
When the Marxist Eric Foner of Columbia University released Reconstruction: America's Unfinished Revolution, all the historians recommended it.
Foner calls it America's "unfinished" revolution because it did not rise to his personal standards of egalitarianism. America will be "finished" when the Marxist Foner is satisfied, which is never.
Clyde Wilson, editor of the Papers of John C. Calhoun, says of the Foner book: "The white South does not exist in it, which is a rather big historical omission."
Now here's a good rule of thumb (it's not infallibly true but it's a reasonable generalization):
When people warn you not to read a much older work of history, but instead urge upon you the one today's professional cohort recommends, that's because the older book got things right the first time.
So for Reconstruction, one of the key books you are absolutely not supposed to read is the one by William Dunning in 1907. It fails the sensitivity test, and it doesn't tell the story Eric Foner wants told.
Let's be honest with ourselves: which book is probably more reliable, the "unfinished revolution" book by a Marxist, or a book from 1907? Be honest.
Reconstruction is a crucial moment in American history, so it's important that we have something other than just the Marxist interpretation.
So guess what ol' Woods has done for you.
I've produced a fresh, newly typeset, highly readable modern edition of Dunning's book in two formats: EPUB for people who like to use e-readers, and PDF for people who prefer that format instead, and I'm giving it to you for free.
My edition contains a new foreword that I commissioned from historian Brion McClanahan, Clyde Wilson's last Ph.D. student, contextualizing Dunning's book.
Oh, and I've given the same treatment to three other old books the bad guys would rather you not read.
I'm calling it my Unapproved Library, and you can have all four books for $0.

"Come on the podcast. I'll come to you. We'll do it in New York City. Let's have a good conversation--not a debate--a conversation about economics, and I would love if you could just explain to me why Hayek was wrong and socialists really do understand economics and how you can undo the mismanagement of all of these capitalists. I would love, love to have that conversation any time, any place."
The accusation from the right is that left-wing politicians won't have long-form conversations with right-wingers because they're afraid they'll be exposed. Well, here's Mayor Mamdani's chance to prove otherwise. Dave doesn't do gotcha bullshit, he discusses in good faith, and he doesn't intentionally talk over people.
