Bitcoin: +27% in 10 days. Difficulty: 2026 floor. That combo shouldn't exist. Rallies pull hashrate back in weeks. But in 2021 the machines moved to Texas. In 2026 they moved to AI. You don't unplug a signed data centre contract for a good fortnight of BTC. Revenue up. Competition idle. Retarget ~Sep 6

Bitcoin just closed its best week since 2024. Up roughly 22% in seven days, back above $77,000, and above every major moving average for the first time since February. The triggers were real ones: the Treasury doubled its long-bond buybacks, yields fell, and Washington moved on the Clarity Act. Liquidity loosened and Bitcoin did what it historically does. Here is what most people miss in a week like this, and it matters if you have been thinking about mining. Miner prices lag the Bitcoin price. Hardware is still priced off the sentiment of two months ago, when everyone was capitulating and machines were being switched off. That gap does not stay open. When a rally holds, demand for machines returns, dealers reprice, and lead times stretch. Network difficulty lags too. Difficulty only retargets roughly every two weeks. Right now it is still sitting more than 20% below its peak after the capitulation flushed out high-cost operators. Every machine running today is earning a larger share of the network than it was three months ago, and that window closes as hashrate comes back. So the setup is unusual: rallying revenue, hardware still priced for the downturn, and a network that got easier to mine. That is the combination people say they are waiting for, and then miss because it only looks obvious afterwards. The honest part, because it always applies: none of this is a guarantee. Bitcoin can give back 22% as fast as it gained it, difficulty will climb again, and your electricity rate still decides whether any machine makes money. Model it before you buy. If the numbers do not work at your power price, the answer is different power, not a different machine. But if you have been waiting for a reason to run the numbers, this week is it. #Bitcoin #BitcoinMining #BTC #ASIC #mining #cryptomining #hashrate #Antminer #crypto #hodl

The same H100 graphics card can cost you $0.80 or $4.20 an hour in 2026. Same card, same performance. The only thing that changes is where you run it. There are four paths. On-demand cloud is the default and the priciest, around $3 to $4 an hour, and you pay that premium even in the hours your hardware sits idle. Specialist GPU clouds rent the identical card for roughly $1.49 to $3.00. GPU hosting gets you dedicated capacity on a committed term, cheaper because you are not paying for flexibility you never use. Buying and colocating is cheapest per hour, typically 40 to 60% below hyperscaler cloud, with break-even around 6 to 18 months. The rule is simple. Running hard and steady for a year or more? Own it. Spiky or still experimenting? Rent it, and do not let anyone talk you out of that. Here is the part most people miss: the real bottleneck is not chips, it is power. A normal rack handles about 5kW. A modern AI rack can need 100kW or more with liquid cooling. Most facilities simply cannot do it. Bitcoin miners spent a decade building exactly that kind of capacity, which is why the same buildings now run AI.

Is Bitcoin mining still profitable? One number decides it: your electricity rate. At today's hashprice (~$29/PH), a modern S21 breaks even near 9c/kWh. Older gear needs under 6c. Home power (20-30c): you lose. Hosted power (~7c): the same machine profits. Nothing changes but the socket. millionminer.com/profit-calc… #Bitcoin #BitcoinMining

The most valuable real estate in tech right now is not in Silicon Valley. It is a warehouse next to a power plant. Here is the shift almost nobody saw coming: Bitcoin mining and AI have become the same business. Strip away the buzzwords, and a Bitcoin miner and an AI GPU are the same object: a specialized chip that eats electricity and produces heat, running flat out around the clock. A B200 draws ~1,000W. A rack of them pulls over 100kW and needs liquid cooling. The thing standing between a company and more AI is almost never the chips. It is power, and a place built to run it. So who spent the last decade securing cheap power, building megawatts of cooling, and running warehouses full of hot chips nonstop? Bitcoin miners. They built the exact infrastructure AI is now desperate for. That is why the largest public miners are converting sites to AI, and why the line between a mining farm and an AI data center has basically dissolved. The same operator mines when mining pays and hosts AI when AI pays, from the same building. What makes this exciting is that it does not replace mining, it sits alongside it, and it opens more doors than ever. Mine Bitcoin through hosting, a regulated farm, hydro, or the cloud. Power AI through the hardware and data-center capacity. Or do both. The honest part: neither is free money. Both live or die on cheap power and efficient hardware run hard. Model before you commit. The infrastructure Bitcoin miners spent a decade building turned out to be the infrastructure the future runs on.

NVIDIA's H100 costs up to $40,000. The RTX 5090, a gaming card, costs about $2,000. For actually running AI, how much of that 15x gap is real? Less than you'd think, for most people. For any workload that fits in 32GB (models up to ~13B at full precision, ~32B quantized), the $2,000 5090 is the best performance per dollar you can buy. It is not close. Fine-tuning a small model? A run that costs ~$2 of electricity on a 5090 you own costs ~$50 to rent the equivalent cloud H100 time. The card pays for itself in a year. But the H100 earns its price the moment you cross three lines: - Memory: a 70B model needs ~40GB even at 4-bit. The 5090's 32GB cannot hold it. - Reliability: ECC memory catches the bit-flips that silently corrupt a 48-hour training run. The 5090 has none. - Scale: NVLink connects H100s at 7x PCIe speed. The 5090 has no NVLink at all. The expensive mistake is not picking the "worse" card. It is picking the wrong one for your job: overpaying for an H100 you will never fully use, or under-buying a 5090 and hitting a wall you cannot quantize around.

You've been told Bitcoin mining wastes energy. The opposite is quietly happening. A miner runs anywhere, so it becomes the buyer for energy the world throws away: flared gas burned off at oil fields, wind and solar the grid can't absorb, stranded hydro with no customers for miles. And it powers down in seconds, so farms get paid to balance the grid. A battery, not a drain. millionminer.com/asic-miner-… #Bitcoin #BitcoinMinin

Most people read NVIDIA's GPU lineup as a straight line: H100 fast, H200 faster, B200 fastest. Buy the newest thing you can afford. That's one of the most expensive mistakes in AI infrastructure. These three chips don't clear the same bottleneck harder. They clear three different ones: The H100 is the workhorse. 80GB, strong compute. Its ceiling isn't math, it's capacity. 80GB. The H200 is NOT a new chip. Same compute die as the H100. Identical FLOPS. NVIDIA only changed the memory: 141GB and 43% more bandwidth. Why? Because inference is bottlenecked by memory bandwidth, not compute. Result: about 40% faster serving for zero extra watts. The B200 is the real jump. New architecture, dual-die, 192GB, 2.4x the bandwidth, native FP4, 1,000W. Roughly 2 to 2.5x an H100. But a different class of machine: new baseboards, new cooling, backlogged into mid-2026. The rule that saves money: choose by bottleneck, not generation. Does the model fit (capacity)? Is decode starved for bandwidth? Do you actually need more compute? Buy the chip that clears the first wall you hit. Most GPU regret is paying for peak compute when the workload was memory-bound the whole time. #AI #GPU #AIModels
