Danny was the best in the business. He was very helpful to me when I first began coaching and was always willing to talk. So sorry to hear this news today. RIP.
Leagues have geographic constraints. Sometimes small schools end up in large school leagues. They shouldn’t be punished for that. The alternative would be to drive many miles to find similar size schools…and based on your other tweets, you don’t seem to like that idea.

With three consecutive Division 2 state titles, and five in the last 13 seasons, Medfield girls’ basketball has established itself as a perennial power.
The architect and driving force behind the program’s success — which includes a perfect 25-0 record last season — is coach Mark Nickerson, a 1988 Medfield graduate who has held the position since 2004.
“He puts so much thought and time into it, and he’s super knowledgeable,” assistant coach Mary Laughna said. “He really cares about every single girl, even down to the last girl on the bench.” bostonglobe.com/2026/04/04/s… @GlobeSchools @mnick40 @MedfieldAD
Mark is humble enough to fairly put the spotlight on his players, but he deserves credit for the culture that has existed for a very long time in that program. One of the best coaches in the state- hands down.
