I turn 29 on Wednesday, and the final year of my 20s is already coming in with a serious bang. I’ve been named one of HSBC x UK Black Business Show’s Top 25 Black Entrepreneurs to Watch 2026.

Okay, hear me out because I genuinely think I’m onto something here!!!
I’ve been revisiting Frank Ocean’s Channel Orange during this current season of life, and somehow ended up connecting it to Stevie Wonder’s Songs in the Key of Life.
Two albums, 36 years apart, both carrying the colour orange, and two of the greatest PENS in music.
And it got me thinking, what if they’re both teaching us the same lesson about loving and being loved?
Stevie writes outward. Frank writes inward. One makes a promise, the other asks a question.
And the more I listened, the more I realised there’s a MUCH bigger conversation here about Black music, vulnerability, love and how different generations experience the same emotions.
50 years of Stevie. Almost 15 years of Frank. And somehow, we’re STILL trying to figure out love. MADDDDD.
I need my music lovers to sit with this one because I really want to know if you’re hearing what I’m hearing!!!

I like when people discover how ASS some of these celebrities were.
Rihanna wasn’t even afforded the dignity of being treated like a victim. Her trauma became public spectacle, celebrities were calling BOTH of them victims, others were more concerned about Chris Brown’s career, and people were already demanding everyone move on. The media scrutinized her more than they empathized with her. And THIS is the cultural climate in which she released Rated R. That’s why I’ll forever defend that era. She refused to let the world reduce her to what happened to her.
