The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit has affirmed a Georgia district court’s ruling that denied death-row prisoner Dorian O’Kelley’s habeas petition without granting O’Kelley leave to amend claims that the judge decided had been insufficiently pleaded. It was the second case in which that same district court judge dismissed a habeas petition after sua sponte dismissing some of the petitioner’s claims as insufficiently pleaded.

I remember #JohnGrant executed by the state of Oklahoma on Oct 28, 2021. He convulsed more than two dozen times and vomited. The autopsy confirmed it was a torturous execution.

1. I remember #AnthonyBoyd executed by the state of Alabama on October 23, 2025. He always maintained his innocence. No physical evidence linked him to the crime. His conviction relied on conflicting testimony, including a co-defendant who got a deal to testify against him.
